Introduction to Drupal

Pedro Cambra, Director of the International Drupal Association Board

Wednesday, 17th April  from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

In this three hour workshop, we'll introduce Drupal and what it can do, covering the basic concepts of content management systems. We will walk through several use cases and examples to get a better understanding of who's using Drupal and its potential.

We will examine Drupal basic configuration and features giving participants an understanding of the toolkit. Further resources and information will be provided you will know where to find more information. This workshop will include many insights into the Drupal community.

Target Audience: 

  • This class is for web developers and designers who want to get started with Drupal.
  • Project managers managing or considering Drupal projects.
  • Decision makers evaluating Drupal.

Student Takeaways:

A better understanding of Drupal's potential. Examples and sales arguments based on who's currently using Drupal. A starting point to look for further information.

Level Pre-Requisites:

 There are no hard and fast pre-requisites as the training is for beginners who have heard about Drupal or other CMS and want to know more. You should understand the basic concepts of a web applications.

Preparation:

 A laptop is desirable but not required. Slides will be provided afterwards. Students may follow the demonstration with their laptop in a pre-installed version of Drupal, but the sessions are too short to include a hands-on, assisted demonstration.

Instructor: 

  • Pedro Cambra is a Drupal Commerce developer and trainer based in London, with more than five years of experience in Drupal and PHP development mostly focused on building and maintaining eCommerce sites. Currently, a director of the International Drupal Association board. Pedro helps organise Drupal camps, local events and encourages local communities.
