UPDATE: Raw Screencast Is Up! | Torrent file here

This Easter Sunday josh_k returns to the teachers spot in the Drupal Dojo to "resurrect" the lost jQuery lesson.

We'll be retracing our steps, and also forging ahead into new territory. Our mission? To show how easy it is to take your Drupal site to the cutting edge of User Interface with jQuery, talk about the tools and resources that make this easy, and outline some best-practices for security.

Oh, and get it all on video this time. Join us if you like at our usual time: 11am PDT / 2PM PDT / 8pm CET.

The Drupal Dojo is a community group dedicated to spreading best-practices and helping developers who are new to the system get up to speed and become masters in their own right. We hold virtual lessons and produce practical developer documentation in both written and screencast form. If you're a newcomer looking for help in grokking the system or an old hand who's tired of being told to clone yourself, consider joining us in the Dojo!

  • Nothing else I can think of...

Wouldn't it be great if Josh could teach on all the Query he did last time, then Victorkane could dish out his everlovin' Dropdown Selector that depends on another Dropdown Selector?

Screencast Viewing Tips

If you want a direct download of the Quicktime movie file, then Right Click & "Save Link As..." on this link: http://blip.tv/file/get/Jmk226-DrupalDojoLesson12JQueryRedux402.mov
It's about 204.5 MB big.

There is also an option to watch the flash video on full screen on blip.tv here: http://blip.tv/file/193619, which will help you see the details in the video.

You can also find the media permalink on blip.tv by clicking on "Share" and then "Permalinks" and there will be a "Right-click and 'Save'" link there. This link can also be found in the details tab in the upper right with the link "Source - Quicktime (.mov)"

Video format

augustin - Tue, 2007-05-22 08:15

Would it be possible to have this video in an Open format?

The video requires version 8 of Flash, and Flash 8.0 won't be supported for Linux.
Also, a .mov file is proprietary and despite installing the proper codecs, it won't play well on my computer (no sound).

Can the videos be released in .ogg or .mpeg format?

thanks.

I was going with the screen cast and recieved this error. Probably related to not using the dofo module and conflicts with jquery update?

Using firebug follwoing the first part of the screen cast.

used: $('#hider').emtpy();
rusulting in firebug saying: $("#hider").emtpy is not a function
