Another student and myself have been accepted for SoC 2007 to work for the Oregon State University Open Source Lab to develop integration modules between Drupal and the Google Apps API. Even outside of Drupal, there are SoC projects using Drupal. It just goes to show how Drupal can't be beat!

Great!
Ever since seeing some of the "commercial" Google Apps stuff come out, I've been interested to see how open source can play in this space as well.
Check out the Calendar module iCal import...I know that KarenS wanted to be able to sync events back to Google Calendar.
Also, a lot of the GData stuff is close to Atom / the Atom Publishing Protocol. Drupal has only RSS2 support today, better Atom work would be excellent.
Very cool!
This is another very cool proposal! Really looking forward to the day that it's released as a stable module: I'm sure many other modules will build an ecosystem of modules around this!
