How can I help out with MSSQL driver?

I'm a MCDBA/MCSD and I don't want to get rusty with MSSQL - I'd like to contribute to the mssql driver development in Drupal- I have a pretty good knowledge of SQL Server 2000 (a modest amount of 2005 too) and data access layers like OLE DB. How can I help out?

install the patch at http://drupal.org/node/74308 and polish it up for use. we should either try to get the driver into core (like Oracle folks are doing) or try to get it close enough so that it can live in contrib and run with no core patches.
