Here's what's coming up for this January 13th meeting in the Balboa Park Hall Of Champions:
This month we're discussing server hardware and performance with Christoph Weber. While we are all aware that Drupal and the entire LAMP stack can and should be optimized, it pays to optimize your hardware as well. In particular, recent Intel CPU releases and the advent of flash storage have changed the web server game.
Next we'll get to our usual round of Lightning Talks. Lightning talks give anyone the chance to discuss a recent Drupal thought, observation, or experience that takes five minutes or less to talk about. You can teach us something, wonder out loud why X doesn't work like you think it should, or ask questions about some Drupally thing you're struggling to understand. The only rule for Lightning Talks is that you're going to be stopping at five minutes whether you're done or not. Other than that's it's fair game, so have fun!
Newcomers are always welcome, bring any of your friends that might be interested in learning about Drupal. We hope to see you on Wednesday at the Balboa Park Hall of Champions.
We'll save the last part of the meeting for a briefing on Sandcamp progress and general networking.

Feb Meeting
Hey Andrew: it was really fun participating in Sand Camp with you, thanks for coordinating a great group and weekend. Special thanks to Balboa Park Online Collaborative for sponsoring the venue and wireless access (a HUGE expense when putting on these events) and for hosting our monthly meeting. Our open-source community would not be as vibrant without your participation and generosity.
The Feb DUG meeting is next week, how about doing a segment called "There's a Module for That" -- everyone asks or tells about their favorite new module find.
