Hi All.
We've now managed to import about 140k articles into our new drupal installation. So far - so good. Now the indexing begins. But it keeps stalling after approximately 6% and it generally takes up ALOT of the server resources making other work on the installation very patience demanding.
So (some of) the questions are...
- Are you using the built in search indexing? If not, then which?
- Have you had problems with the built-in indexing? - and have you overcome? - and how?
- Which database storage types are you using (MyIsam or innodb?)? And are you using the same for all tables? (Right now we're using a combination of innobd and MyIsam tables.)
On http://lists.drupal.org/pipermail/development/2007-April/023272.html and http://drupal.org/node/139537 similar problems are described, but there does not yet seem to be consensus about what the solution is, or even the problem...
