We have a OpenSRS module for allowing you to purchase domain names from OpenSRS.
Is anyone interested enough in providing domain name registration during site creation to port it to Drupal 5?

Every provisioning module in hostmaster is just that: a module. a URL / domain is a defined field for sites, and so you could write DNS provisioning / domain purchase for any system by writing a provisioning module for it.
