Afrikaans translation

I propose here at drupal za that we all get involved in creating an afrikaans translation for drupal 6x and 7x.

This is the current project page http://drupal.org/project/af. The last commit on the page was 3 years ago, I think the project has lost interest completely. I reckon it is up to us as South African drupalers to get this off the ground. The current translation is for drupal 4.7x.

I have contacted the only maintainer killes@www.drop.org for a request to transfer the translation in order to properly set up a CVS application.

I am however a soetie and am not that good with the afrikaans language, so I do need help - Just very keen to keep this unique langauge alive in cyberspace. Anyone is interested in doing this part-time let me know.

I will help with the Afrikaans translation but I'm not sure how to implement it.
Any ideas on how to go forward with this.
