Hey everyone,
At the last Portland Drupal User Group meeting, I posed the question of whether others would be interested in an informal meetup each month to work on our own individual Drupal projects in the company of other Drupalers. The idea is that you can work on your own project, ask a question to your neighbor if you're stuck, chat with others about your brilliant Drupal start-up idea, and then take a beer break whenever you want. It's one part work group, one part code sprint, one part BOF meeting, and two parts Happy Hour.
There seemed to be a lot of interest in this, so I've gone ahead and picked a date and time for our first PDX Beer and Drupal Meetup. It will be held at:
Lucky Lab Beer Hall
1945 NW Quimby St.
Portland, OR 97209
Date: Tuesday, March 23
Time: 6:00 - 10:00 p.m.
(Yes, they have wifi.)
Note that this is in addition to our monthly Drupal User Group meeting and is intended to serve a different function. There won't be any agendas or presentations at this meetup. Just the opportunity to work, chat, brainstorm, and drink in the company of your Drupal friends.
Additionally, I picked a Tuesday for this meeting because it happens to be "Tightwad Tuesdays" at Lucky Lab. So pints and pitchers of your favorite brew will be extra cheap. And the sandwiches and pizza are great, too.
So if you think you can make it, drop a quick note below. I'll also mention it at this week's Drupal User Group meeting. Hope to see you there!
Cheers,
Ben Kaplan
P.S. If lovin' Drupal is wrong, I don't want to be right! ;-)

Ben, this is great! Thanks
Ben, this is great! Thanks for organizing this. This'll be a wonderful opportunity for us work-at-homers to get out and collaborate with others; I look forward to it.
It's near my big deliverable
It's near my big deliverable deadline, so it might be just what I need... or it might be touch and go. I think this is a great idea and I'll certainly aim to be there. Good job, and thanks.

I usually do the same on
I usually do the same on Tuesday nights already with Cocoa (Mac/iPhone) developers, so I'm probably out on Tuesdays. But I think this is a great idea.
Thanks, Ben, for putting this
Thanks, Ben, for putting this together. I'm looking forward to it. I'm pretty sure I can make it in, although I have company from out-of-town, so it will remain to be seen. I'm 100% enthusiastic to see it get started.
