This group seems somewhat quiet to say the least. Is anyone actually using drupal to create a photography web site? I have to admit that at the moment I'm not, but I probably will sometime in the future.

In the coming months I'll be converting Roger Doak Photography to Drupal. The site was never really finished and needs to go to the next step. It's on the back burner for now though because he's my brother and gets his site for free!
Setting one up now
I have been working on my new site Race The Wind Photography. I know my front page needs some work but check out the galleries. I found the basic setup Ok but more detail configuration is proving difficult.
I'm trying to set one up now :)
I've been using SlideShowPro on my www.CouchSurfingOri.com to insert galleries, and slideshows... but... people really seem to like SimpleViewer... so.. I'm trying to figure out a way to integrate the FlashGallery slideshow, with the image import module, and embed that into blog entries... it's going a little rough right now :)

Writing a new module for photography site
I have been working on one for a friend for a while now. I tested just about every module out there for image galleries in the process. For what I wanted to do, I used Angie Byron's article at lullabot.com on creating a Flickr-type site with Drupal (you can see it here). Then, I took all the stuff that you had to do manually and wrote a module that does it all for you. I haven't actually created the on Drupal.org yet, but I'll get it up in the next week or so if anybody is interested.

I created the Photography group a long while ago and got a negative answer from the admin (group description not good other similar ....)
Glad to see people picked up on it. I have been looking at various option to create photographic gallery in Drupal.
The number of options is puzzling! I hope we can get together and share our commun experience.
