I just installed and used the Matrix CCK module, which seems to work very well. This is an obvious place to start adding some JavaScript. I think the best solution is to use a hook_form_alter, and to check for the matrix field type, and if it exists, to layer some JavaScript on the existing form to add some functionality. An obvious improvement I see for the matrix field type is JavaScript to allow arrow key moving between fields, and mousewheel moving up and down through the fields, this will save a lot of time when editing the form.

Any other comments?

WikiCalc/SocialCalc

I've been a heavy user of WikiCalc/SocialCalc, and I wonder if we might be able to learn some ideas from WikiCalc about implementing Spreadsheet in Drupal?

We can probably get at least a little advice from Dan Bricklin, creator of WikiCalc.
