Hello all you Central Alabama Drupal folks. It's about time we show our love of Drupal. Please introduce yourselves, and let's get to know each other. Maybe we can start a monthly meetup.
Hi, my name is Brian. I've been working with Drupal for 6-8 months. Before I started drinking the Drupal cool-aid, I developed and administrated web applications built in Java. I'm looking forward to meeting Drupalers in the area.

Hey Drupalers
Hey all, my name is Rick. I've been using Drupal for about a year now. I'm more of a Front-End Designer/Developer with some PHP knowledge. I would also be interested in getting involved with a Drupal meetup.

Birmingham meetup?
Hey guys. I'm in Birmingham and would really love to put together a group to get together regularly and maybe even do some work together. My main strong points are, like Rick, front-end design/development (esp. CSS/HTML), php is getting better and better, and do pretty well in the theming arena as well. I'm learning to do custom modules and have worked a fair bit with ubercart, so I can handle the e-commerce needs for the most part.
I started out with CMSs using a friend's home-grown CMS for a non-profit, moved briefly into Joomla before I discovered the awesomeness of Drupal. I do the Drupal work as a side thing right now but am hoping to move into full time work soon. Look forward to hearing from folks and let's make something happen in central 'bama!

Sounds great Scot
I most likely won't be able to get down to Birmingham too frequently but would love to get together at some point in the future. If nothing else we could possibly do an online meetup. I'm actually working on a site that utilizes Ubercart so I may pull you in on that if I can.
Hook up with me on Twitter: http://twitter.com/rickhocutt or Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/rickhocutt
Take care!

meetup
i guess nashville meetup will have to be the next move, but I'd like to get a Birmingham group going, though I wonder how many Drupal folks are in the area...any suggestions on getting a more local group started? How do I find other Drupalers in the area!?!
Drupalcon?
Is anyone going to DrupalCon? We should at least meet up there, if some Bama folks are going. Scot, I'm open to meeting up in Bham, or if you want to come down to Montgomery, that works for me as well. Does anyone know of a web developer group? Something like that might be a good place to start.
i wish!
if i can work it out, i'd love to go, but doubt it...the 9-5 gets in the way of such things...i know of no web developer groups in the area, but will definitely keep my eye out. in the meantime, let's see if we can't get together, maybe others will join in the fun by the time we set a meeting. i'd prefer meeting in town as i've got 2 small kids and don't like to stray too terribly far if i can help it. let's talk about a date in the new year. happy holidays!
New to Drupal in Prattville, AL
Hello Brian - we haven't met yet, but I know your father and your brother as I live just 4 doors down from Bill and have met your father while walking in the neighborhood.
I have used several CMS applications, but have a strong interest in learning Drupal. I am not sure yet what April will look like on my calendar for DrupalCon, but would like to go if my schedule permits at that time. Let me know if you get a local group started. I am heavily involved in supporting communications at my church so a lot of evenings are already taken, but we might find a time to work a meeting night in.
Hi Ben
Sorry for the delayed reply here...nice to hear from you Ben. I'm hoping to get a meet up put together soon. I'll post it to the group. Looking forward to meeting you soon.
Hey
Hey everybody. My name is Brian. I have been using Drupal for almost a year now. I would be very interested in having a meet up in the near future.
new to Drupal
My name is Beth Ann. I am new to Drupal since January of this year and I'm way deep in getting my first site launched on the platform. I'd love to know more people in Alabama using Drupal. I live and work in Birmingham so a meet-up here would be great.
Multimedia Producer introducing herself...
Shout out from a new Alabama transplant and multimedia producer! (Orlando --> Talladega).
I have been a professional Web Developer for 15 years, and a Drupaler for 3+. I am not a module developer or PHP programmer yet (I developed sites in ASP, pre-Drupal), but pretty much everything else...a 1-woman show. Love collaborating.
Have also been a Writer/Editor for 15+ years, and am a skilled Video Producer/Videographer/Editor. (Own prosumer equipment.)
Yep, I am a s/asher [tm].
I tried to find and say hello to Alabama Drupalers at DrupalCamp Atlanta, a couple weeks ago. Sorry if you were there and I missed you.
Been trying for years to work
Been trying for years to work with/for SPL! wink @Brian
I wasn't able to make Drupal
I wasn't able to make Drupal Atlanta this year as I hoped. Sorry to miss out on meeting up with fellow Drupalers. Welcome to Bama, greta_drupal!
Hello....
I'm new to Birmingham - moved in from overseas a couple of months ago... Working for a sw company here - not with Drupal - but I've used Drupal in a semi serious fashion for a couple of years...
Wondering if there is a desire to create a meetup sometime before Easter in Birmingham somewhere??
Cheers,
Knut
