Here's the issue...
I have some .mobi web sites. I'd really like to have Drupal 6.x (beta) up and running on them. The problem is that while there's several mobile 5.x themes to choose from, there's not any for 6.x yet. I'm not a themer, and I have no prior experience with theme development, and to be honest, I'm not even that knowledgeable about PHP. Therefore, I was hoping that someone could give me some tips on where to start to specifically get or make a .mobi compliant theme for Drupal 6.x. I honestly don't want to spend weeks learning about themeing. I would love to, but I just don't have that kind of time available right now. :(
I guess I'd really just like to find a basic template that would be .mobi compliant, and work (like it should) with Drupal 6.x and / or any other tips to get started on making one.
What would it take to port the 5.x versions of either the ".mobi" theme or "mobile" theme to 6.0? Would it require a lot of changes?

Easiest way is ...
... to take the most basic web theme there is ( I use "blue marine" in my mobile themes )
and just strip out the variables that you don't need.
I made a XHTML MP and WAP theme for v5 and am running similar on my site at the moment.
It is fairly easy to make a mobi-ready theme - you can get templates from http://dev.mobi.
Editing/styling is straight forward - of course depends on how fancy you want your mobile site to be.
I downloaded Drupal 6x RC yesterday and have started to look at the way it is put together.
Therefore I am in the process of updating the accessibility module to v6.
Since this module requires basic mobile themes I will be creating some of them too.

Further to my previous comment, I have completed a rough mobile theme, tentatively called "bluemobi" as it's color scheme is based on bluemarine. You can find out more about here: mobile theme for Drupal v6. See the guide on site too for slightly more info on how it all works.

Has anyone posted a drupal 6 mobile theme to drupal.org? I'm just starting development of a mobile site, it would be nice to help development of a pre-existing theme rather than building one, and have a place to file patches & issues.
