Feature request

  1. Charge users for each listing they place or each node they publish

  2. Users maintain a running account with site (site balance), in which every time they publish a node, their account's total is deducted.

  3. Invoice users for their account balance when Administrator choose to... Allow users to place a listing by selecting "put in on my tab".

Greatly appreciate comments and feedback for feature implementation!

Userpoints

Userpoints module does that.

When ecommerce is installed, you can buy points using real money.

Then if you set a certain number of points per post, they get deducted as you post.

Job Search, Userpoints, and E-Commerce Modules

Walt Esquivel's picture

Hello Khalid,

I have a few questions.

1.Can your Job Search module work with your Userpoints module and the ecommerce module to require a recruiter to buy points using real money in order to post jobs?

2.Can your Job Search module work directly with the ecommerce module (not using Userpoints) to require a recruiter to pay using real money in order to post jobs? If so, can the recruiter buy an amount to cover a set of job postings, say, for example, $5 to cover 5 job postings at $1 each where $1 will be deducted over time for each job posting or $20 to cover 40 job postings at $0.50 each where $0.50 will be deducted over time for each job posting?

3.This is not related to "Pay to Publish," but I'll ask anyway. Your Job Search module's documentation is dated 2005/07/27 and mentions a commercial extended version as well as necessary patches.

3.a. Does the documentation need updating? For example, are all the patches still required? Unfortunately, I'm like a fish out of water when it comes to patches.
3.b. Can you describe the commercial extended version in more detail? Is there a "standard" commercial extended version?

If you prefer to answer 3.a. & 3.b. directly to me, please feel free to use my contact form.

As always, thank you in advance.

  1. Yes.

  2. Not without new code somewhere.

3.a. There are prepatched versions for 4.6.x in there. Should still work.

3.b. Lots of more functionality. Will send more details.

Userpoints

Yes, K Baley, Userpoints is quite an interesting approach to this issue.

Should I add a feature request to Userpoints module for Users to publish only when they have points? or Do you think a different module would be required to control access based on User points procured?

You can

The site projectopus.com seems to use a model based on userpoints with additional features requested.
