Program guidelines and policies

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.
You are viewing a wiki page. You are welcome to join the group and then edit it. Be bold!

Let's try to define our core values, rules of the road, dos and dont's. Here are a few ideas - please question, comment, clarify and/or add your own...

  • Strive to connect and add value to the Drupal community
  • Enable a means for the community to engage, learn, and participate
  • All projects are to be developed in the open and contributed back to the community
  • Utilize the Drupal support and infrastructure wherever applicable
  • Support core projects and community initiatives
  • Communicate/collaborate with 'official' developers, designers and maintainers
  • Keep communication on the appropriate 'official' Drupal sites
  • Interface and collaborate with Drupal working groups, regional groups, and the Drupal association
  • The program to remain free, open, and inclusive
  • Participation will be rewarded if you so choose
  • Learning should be fun!

Needs a bit of clarity

We need to establish a set of goals, guidelines and policies for our new program - this should include answers to the following -

  • What is the Drupal Kata?
  • What are the goals of the program?
  • How does the program work?
  • How do people become involved and how do they benefit?
  • Is this a certification program?
  • What is a Drupal Kata project?
  • How does this relate to other Drupal learning efforts?
  • and many more...

With a good deal of inspiration coming from the following Google programs, these would be good places to references -
