"I'll take a swing at the druplicon this week, do you have any thoughts on doing a masthead?" Said brightloudnoise.
"I had an idea about using drupals mast with a newspaper, keeping the same colours, but twotoning the difference of the newspaper in front." Said hal.
Okay, so if you want to join in, all entries will be put to the committee before the April edition of the newsletter.
Most probably, we can get the top five onto the frontpage of the April Drupal Newsletter!
All people who enter will get a mention, and the winner gets their choice at the head of the newsletter every month, plus if we can manage any prizes.
Good luck, and remember, any person of any age, no discriminations allowed are allowed to enter.
aaron says, "Post your entries in this wiki, and we can use a poll once we've collected enough entries!" (notes there are no comments enabled on this post, wonders if we can turn them on...)

Specs?
I think you are asking for a graphic banner of some sorts for the newsletter but I'm not sure… :)
Some specs re. dimensions and/or filesize should be useful and make it easier to judge the entries I think.
Guide
Excellent, comments are now enabled.
If you want to do a banner, then you are more than welcome.
Although entries are for an icon come header come picture that is original.
Some people think this, others think that, but it all boils down to who is creative enough to actually come up with something. That is the main thing.
You supply what you have, although take into consideration picture size and therefore page load.
Recommended filetype is png or jpg I think. Size should be no more than say 40kb, but this is a guideline and not absolute. It would be nice to have the original for typesetting purposes. etc etc.
PNG doesn't play well with email clients
Or rather, a lot email clients don't play well with PNG. JPG or GIF and no animated GIFs, well you can animate them but Outlook 2007 and some others won't be playing them!
I'm a little confused about what you're looking for too...some general specs would be nice. Also is there a place to get an high res Drupal guy, EPS maybe?

keep in mind the licensing dos and don'ts
I just created a wiki of "Licensing Dos and Don'ts for Drupal Artwork" - http://groups.drupal.org/node/8576 hopefully it is helpful not only for finding the Druplicons but also in your licensing/delivery of the final works.
Looking forward to it.
