I see no activity on SMS Framework project since more than 5 months.

I plan to add some features:

  • More logging (cf. the unused sms_messages table)
  • SMS delivery status (cf. Clickatell API 'callback' option)
  • A quota system

Any feedbacks from module's owner ?

Thanks,
Aymerick

It would be nice if one of the "pay per node" systems could be integrated - this would enable sites to sell SMS (assuming individual SMS are nodes?)

There are a few node payment options - credit/paypernode, with userpoints springs to mind. Userpoints is integrated with ubercart, and ecommerce I think. Paypernode is integrated with ecommerce but not UC, yet.

This could be good for social network sites I think.

Maybe this page will help you:

You can see what is advertised for firefox, which of course you should be able to integrate.

I'd be interested in incorporating the same stuff ... I emailed you about two weeks ago but got no reply. It's depressing to see this google soc go nowhere.

My apologies for the lack of

My apologies for the lack of support but I have been very busy with school this year. I have spent some time working to upgrade the module to Drupal 6, but most of my attention has been needed elsewhere. I'm am hoping to have some more time once this semester ends.

I think your plans to add features to the module are great! If you decide to work on these, please continue to post your progress. Thanks so much!

One of the things that I have noticed about modules in Drupal is that they seem to put all of the weigth on one person's shoulders to maintain.

I am drifting away from topic at hand here, but it would be cool if drupal had a more systematic way to maintain contributions. A way to spread out the labor a bit, even if by way of some kind of to-do list, and a way to allow new comers to know the status of maintainers. It takes lots of digging now to get to the root of what is going on, at least sometimes.

Official Release?

I think having an official release would probably help, too.

I'm using SMS in a current Drupal project and I ended up going with smsgateway because it was stable and have since written a driver to integrate smsgateway with the Mobivity SMS gateway.

This project looks to have a lot more features, but I ultimately ended up going with smsgateway because of that initial observation (and thus far it's working fine for me, since this project requires some very custom functionality.)
