OpenAtrium is a drupal installation profile, designed as an "intranet in a box". In other words, it's a way of using Drupal for an intranet, without having to follow a recipe or do much work at all. It is developed by the smart folks at Development Seed. I'm impressed by how it combines a nice looking design with some pretty clever modules that solve some of Drupal's (and organic groups') deficiencies.

Over the past year, I've used OpenAtrium to deliver 3 different projects, and made use of its three key modules (features, context, spaces) to deliver several more. In this presentation, I'd like to share some of the details of those experiences and my conclusions about what OpenAtrium is good for, and what not so much.

The presentation itself will include an overview and demo of OpenAtrium, stories from my developmental challenges, and leave lots of time for questions, answers and discussions. The title of this post refers to my tendency towards getting carried away with what I'm excited about, no software will be harmed during the presentation.
