group: Drupal Newsletter

That was quite an issue we put out there. I've gotten lots of positive feedback about it, and am excited to keep this ball rolling.
Things I personally learned from this issue:
- Robin's IRC nick is 'self'. And he's available by e-mail...
- 20 pages might be a bit long for an issue -- we can definitely move stuff to future issues, and talk more about http://newsletter.drupal.org as a possibility for the future.
- Make sure we put a link to the newsletter in the version that goes out by e-mail.
- Triple check links before it goes out -- Drupal.org's mail system mangled the anchor links to the TOC.
- I had to take out all those eye-candy links in the intro paragraph, so it looked better for the e-mail version.
- Double check that d.o & g.d.o look the same; they use different filters.
So I figure the big theme for March's newsletter will be DrupalCon. How many from the Newsletter team plan to go? Can we get some volunteers to write up 1 or 2 sessions they attend (or present)? That would be awesome!
Maybe we can even meet up (or on IRC) while we're there. A special issue "live" from the conference (or just after) might be called for, depending on how quickly we can get that ready.
Any other thoughts?
Thanks for the hard work!

p.s. Robin, can you sticky the March wiki when you get a chance? http://groups.drupal.org/node/8720

Good job to _you_ aaron!
Thanks!
I'm going to be at Drupalcon and would love to do a write-up of some or all of the experience.
Is there any sort of congregation of newsletter folks (other than the proposed IRC meet up) at the Drupalcon? I do like the IRC meetup idea though and would plan to "attend"...

Press credentials :D
Good idea. I don't think there's anything official, but I'm sure we could arrange an informal meeting. Maybe even make press badges...

Teasers...
Is there anyway we could use a module to collect teasers of items that point to full articles? It seems like it would be much better than forcing people to go through the entire issue looking for items they want to see...
I second the teaser issue,
I second the teaser issue, is that part of a blog feature, to show 200 words or so? Maybe someone has another way to solve this..
Also, regarding Drupalcon, can you do a promo newsletter, or something bonus, or would you prefer to fill out alternative months with everything drupalcon, because that is what I imagine it will be!!
I'm not against this, but would to be prepared for this in case it happens. I cannot go, as it is far far away in distance and obligations for me.
Is this any good for a strapline:
Anything Drupalcon Drupal can do better
haha .. sorry .. haha
Yes, let's work up a better
Yes, let's work up a better format for the next issue. I want to meet with interested folks at the conference for a brainstorming/development session. I'll try to set up a time soon, so people can attend during IRC too.
