Aggregator and pubmed references

Hi,
I'm very new to drupal, and not a programmer... though I have several (without drupal experience) in my lab.

I would like to take the results of a pubmed search at NCBI, and use the feed in drupal.
I can get the RSS link to work nicely in NetNewsWire (Mac).
When I use drupal aggregator everything is displayed (abstract etc), I want to just list out the titles.
I've tried to use the NCBI controls to regulate the output, but it seems tat doesn't apply to the RSS feed which gets everything.

I also tried using www.feeddigest.com to create a processed feed and adding this to a drupal page.
But the system doesn't handle the "related articles" links in the feed.

Please reply to cupton at uvic.ca

Thanks,
Chris

what would you like to do with the related articles links in the feed? display them in the body of the post?

Pubmed refs

Hi, if possible I'd keep them. If not, dump them.
I guess, I'm looking to pick which XML tags to use in the display.

But I may have found a work around... that also has other advantages:

Use RSS feed from NCBI for refs
View them in NetNewsWire
Use Connotea to tag them and store associated with groups (ours is VBRC)
this will create a list of all refs, some will be tagged "review".
Take RSS feed, filtered by "review" from Connotea and drop that into drupal aggregator.
So, only see review papers on web page (which is OK).

This creates a Connotea community with much wider value for serious users. Also multiple people
can be doing the work.

Still playing with it....

Cheers,
Chris
