Hello!
I am trying to do a redirect on node save to an external URL. The issue is that Rules seems to be unable to redirect to anything but an internal (relative) URL.
I put in the redirect url as: http://www.externalsite.com/token1 but the redirect is issued as http://www.drupalsite.com/token1 and returns a page not found.
I do have an issue in the issue queue and another user has reported the same problem but so far, no suggestions or answers as to why this won't work. If anyone can give me some ideas on how to troubleshoot this, I would greatly appreciate it.

By design
The function used for redirecting is, I think, drupal_goto. It is used to redirect inside the Drupal site, so it just won't work the way you want.
I've tried some other stuff with redirecting to external sites, and I ended up using CCK Redirection. It was some time ago, so I can't say how the module has developed lately -- but at the time it suited my needs just fine.

Thanks for the info! That helps a lot. Actually built into the module it says it can redirect to an external URL, so I couldn't figure out why it didn't work.
"Enter a Drupal path, path alias, or external URL to redirect to. Enter (optional) queries after "?" and (optional) anchor after "#""
I'll take a look at CCK Redirection and I'm also going to look at CCK Link, which doesn't have the same problem with external links and see what I can hack...

If it says that it should be possible to redirect to an external URL there is a bug – in the documentation or the functions.

This looks like a hacking attempt to me. You can't login because the URL of the login page has been hacked to point to the google.com site. I suggest you re-install Drupal core on top of the existing and then update.php. I hope some of this helps.

settings.php can not delete
