Start:
2010-10-21 19:00 - 21:00 America/Toronto
Event type:
User group meeting

Drupal 7 is rapidly approaching beta, and will soon be ready for wide-spread use. Drupal 7 has been in development for over two years, and is a significant jump as compared to the previous Drupal 6 release. Some features of Drupal 7 I'll demonstrate include:

  • The new "Seven" administration theme along with the improvements in the administration user interface
  • The new "Bartik" and "stark" themes
  • Using Drush to install new Drupal instances
  • The new rock-your-socks database API
  • Fields! (Also known as "CCK in core")
  • Some other new features and changes I'll keep as surprises :)

Update

We will also have about 20 minutes so those who attended DrupalCamp on 15 and 16 October can share their experience with the entire group. What they saw, what they liked, what surprised them, or anything else ...

Please that the we will also have about 20 minutes towards the end of the session, so those who attended DrupalCamp on 15 and 16 October can share their experience with the entire group. What they saw, what they liked, what surprised them, or anything else ...

If you attended, please take a few moments to think about mental bullet points for what you observed and share them with the group.

If you did not attend, you missed a great event, but others will fill you in, somewhat.
