I have gone through and deleted a bunch of support requests. I realized that the front page of this group was almost entirely support requests and that was giving the wrong impression of the group, and simply inviting more.
This is a working group; it's a group for people who are working on Views or on Views-based modules. It's absolutely not a place to ask how to do some random task with Views on your site. Those posts are distracting.

Wow
It took under four hours for someone to break this simple rule yet again. Maybe if you sticky this post people will notice it? Then again...

Numbered list
It might seem redundant but the eye is drawn to lists and people may just see that and not the rest of the text so perhaps change it to:
1) ask questions about coding for views
2) talk about problems you encounter while writing views related code
3) propose ideas for code you would like to write.
4) talk about views related projects.

If you have general support questions about using the views UI, post an issue in the views issue queue or in the support forum. Not here. Thanks.
Would a group rename help?
Currently a desperate newbie might think "Views Developers" might be a group for developers using Views.
Maybe something like "Development of the Views Module" or "Views Internals" etc might help scare off the support requests.

Might also be an issue with the group description:
Then right at the very end "support requests will be deleted" - I bet hardly anyone even gets there.
Yeah...
That's what I said in http://groups.drupal.org/node/9593#comment-30005 ;)
