Geolocate a whole street and save as linestring

I need to build a map which represents the building progress of a communal pipe network. I have a list of the streets with the dates of the day the construction will be finished in the particular street. The user of the site (the local residents) will later have a views page where they can check when theire street will be connected.

I created a node type with an open maps wkt field where I want to store a linestring and the construction date. I plan to show only the linestrings as overlay dependend from the construction day to highlight the streets where construction is in progress on a specific date.

Is there now a way to use the geolocation module to get the linestring for a particular street or will I have to trace all the streets manually with the pen tool? Maybe there is a way going through the points on a street by looping through the house numbers and building a linestring from that, sounds difficult to me. :-(

Any suggestions or ideas? If there is another way to mark the streets I am open to it. Thanks for your help again.
