event planning

Hello there fellow Kolkatans!

As the city shifts into its monsoon mood, it seems like the best time ever to meetup over tea, coffee or rum and get to know fellow Drupalers in town :-)

I am starting this discussion to reach out to web developers in the city who are either already working with Drupal or would want to do so. So together we can plan a kickass meetup.

Please feel forward to add your suggestions for the meetup - things to talk about? when and where to meet? how to reach out more people? anything..

For example, conversations that I would like to have in a meetup would be -

Hey! Nice if you can comment if you have any input on upcoming meetups!

Any ideas/suggestions/wishes?
We need some short presentations?
Moderators for discussions groups?
Venue?
Timing? For those who can't normally make it on Tuesday evenings, do you have alternative suggestions?

Back in October, we had a 'Testing testing' discussion. Six (or so) local Drupal people met up. We talked about doing a testing-related event here in the Twin Cities.

Today is December 2, and seriously, no one is going to be able to do testing a testing event until the New Year. :)
But that's cool, because I am sure that most of us would put 'learn how to write tests' on our list of new years resolutions.

So let's get it over with first thing in 2010!

Does January 9 (Saturday) or January 10 (Sunday) work for people who might like to attend or host this event?

Sorry for the delay, but between DrupalCon, the 'nerd ick' cold/flu that's been passing around the office, and of course the snow (it's falling again right now), things have been a mite hectic.

We need to pick a date/location for a first NH meetup... suggestions welcomed.

Ben has kindly offered the conference room at Commonplaces, which will hold about 15-20 people, and has a projector. It's in Hampstead, conveniently located 15 minutes off I93 exit 3. Other offers will be considered, either for a first meeting, or future meetings, so speak up!
