admin directory issue

I'm just new here so apologies if this issue has already been done to death!
Sites installed on an apache server present a problem from time to time when accessing admin areas of a Drupal installation. The link points to the Site Admin login (I am on an Ensim control panel). I don't think this represents a serious security risk at the back end - it just isn't pretty! It almost needs something like a URL re-direct or URL aliasing using the built in ability.
Anyone having a solid fix prepared to provide details will be greatly thanked.
