Hi :)
We (a french academic library) are using drupal for our website (http://bu.univ-angers.fr).
We're considering using now Primo from ExLibris or Summon/Serial Solutions.
And of course, the integration of that possible discovery tool into our website is an important part of our questioning
On the Summon side, I know there's a module that works (at least one french academic library is using it > see "catalogue+" there http://bibliotheque.univ-paris-diderot.fr/ ).
My question is on the Primo side : does anybody know something about a drupal module that should integrate Primo INTO a drupal website ?
Any idea or suggestion welcome
Best regards.
D.

Primo Central API
We (http://www.dbc.dk/english) have made a solution for the Danish University Colleges that is integrating ExLibris' Primo Central X-Service API, Brief Search, with a Drupal based website. It is using components from Index Data's Masterkey Platform (http://www.indexdata.com/masterkey) for search and retrieval and integrated in Drupal with the MKDru-module (http://www.indexdata.com/mkdru / https://drupal.org/project/mkdru).
You can see an example here: https://www.phbibliotek.dk/index.html/da/search/meta/bioactive%20peptide...
Currently we are working on various enhancements to take better advantage of the API, especially to make filtering easier, and we are also looking into expanding the solution to include metadata from other sources. You are welcome to drop me a message if you want to know more.

Primo Client Search Block Module
Greetings,
Don't know if this is any help but I thought I might share.
Northeastern University Libraries is in the middle of a massive conversion to ALAMA and Primo. The library administration has decided to use the Primo search interface, so we are not looking for a direct integration. ExLibiris doesn't officially support creating a search form on another site, but suggests using an
<iframe/>
element, however we don't want that type of UX issues, so they have provided their recommended approach to handling search.I am in the process of building a custom module to create a search form block that can be configured for any institution. I just have started writing this little module (same day as I am posting here). I thought I would share to see if there might be any other interested collaborators. If you're interested or have some feedback, please feel free to open an issue or fork the github repository.
I think Northeastern might be interested in looking at integrating the Primo central API's into our Drupal site, but might be a while off. With the poor quality of the front-end experience from the Primo interface, we might be encouraged even further later.

Primo and Drupal
North Dakota State University Libraries have just completed the migration to Alma and Primo. We have used the search box code provided by Ex Libris, and it's working fine. We are not using iframes.
What is the benefit of building a custom module versus using their search form? If it would be better for our users, I would be interested in collaborating to the extent that I am able to.
Benefits
It would be really easy to change the configuration of the block containing the form and would allow maybe for some additional features like, adding a scope
<select>
element in the form, or maybe adding additional search fields from the website.It could allow us to collaborate if there is a bug in the form from something like Exlibris adding a new feature that breaks their recommend procedure.
Using the module would allow Drupal to only add the CSS / JS to the aggregated CSS/JS on pages that have the block, not all pages, as is suggested in their guide.
Also it would be a nice tool for new institutions looking to add it to their site.

Primo and Drupal Searchbox
We'd be interested in contributing on this in the Fall. We use drupal for our site. We have a jquery-based searchbox that we're using now. It requires some web skills to edit. I think it would be great to make something that a content publisher could work with to build a custom search box for a particular department using the Drupal interface. I'm a bit slammed right now trying to roll out a new web presence for our library system, but i'd love to help with this as I'm able.

Polaris
Hi,
We wrote some code to push a search as it was typed into Polaris as a search. I suppose it's not really Drupal-specific, but it does live on a Drupal site. I can share if anyone wants it.
Article Discovery module
Daniel,
Should you go with Primo Central and want to use the Article Discovery module (https://drupal.org/sandbox/bertrama/1119778), we at Michigan would be happy to work with you to help adapt the code to be dual-purpose (Summon and Primo).
