Drupal developer | Technotribe Communications
I work for an online marketing company looking for an experienced developer to implement a Drupal CMS/ecommerce site. It's a fairly robust site (400 pages) with some complicated taxonomy requirements. I am a project manager and would coordinate content/images/data, etc. but need your help in creating taxonomy, creating ecommerce, customizing layout, identifying and implementing modules, etc. Also, would need your help on consulting, possibly training. All work can be done at your location - may need one face to face meeting. fyi We're in Chicago.

Last Call to Get Food at BU Drupal Camp
If you are interested in attending BU Drupal BootCamp on this Friday, May 2nd, 2008 and would like lunch to be provided (free), we need you to sign up by 4:00 pm CST at http://slane.bradley.edu/drupalbootcamp/. If you have particular dietary needs, please contact Steven Merrill or myself so that we can make sure there is something for you to eat.
This call is just for people who would like lunch provided. After this afternoon you can still sign up and attend the event -- we just can't guarantee there will be any food for you -- but campustown is literally just across the street and has a number of different (cheap) food options.
Thanks!
Brian
Call for Presenters, BU Drupal BootCamp -- Friday, May 2nd, 2008

DrupalBootCamp UIUC Feedback
I thought I'd create this thread as a place to put feedback about DrupalBootCamp UIUC and see what that will mean for our May BU DrupalBootCamp.
This first one comes from one of our IT staff that visited the morning sessions:
---
I thought the UIUC Drupal event was very informative. I liked that each speaker had a short stint on their topic, and things moved along at a good pace. Starting off with your presentation provided a nice segue into the rest of the morning topics.
BU Drupal Boot Camp
UPDATE: We have much more information about our BU event on May 2nd. It will be free, and breakfast items and lunch will be provided. It will be in GCC Room 124 on Bradley University's campus, which is a room with teleconference facilities, so we may be able to teleconference in a presenter or two, or stream the event live - we're still investigating these possibilties. Please sign up for a user account on our site if you want to attend so we can get food for you.
The site has been updated with more information, such as directions, and our agenda. More will follow as we have time.

Drupal Table at Flourish Conference April 4th and 5th?
The Flourish conference is next weekend (April 4th and 5th), and it seems like a logical place to do some Drupal marketing.
It looks like we'd still be able to get a table.
Are there other folks planning on attending that would be up for setting up a marketing table?

About 30 people from UIUC expressed interest in a day long Drupal boot camp of some sort aimed at those new to Drupal. Steven and I think we should just do one locally sooner that will lead into the May bootcamp in Peoria.
I wanted to see who was interested in helping out with such an event and work with them to develop an agenda and pick a good date. So far:
- Karen Stevens from Normal is interested in helping

DrupalCamp CentralIL in May?
Hey Drupalers,
I was talking with some of Bradley's IT higher-ups as part of a portal project that my students are helping skin. Once mentioned that our university webmaster was looking at Drupal, and I immediately began to espouse the benefits of Drupal. (Several of the Slane College sites use Drupal, with several more on the way.)
I mentioned that I'd be willing to help them plan such an implementation, and then someone asked if I could show a few people around Drupal, and maybe do a little training.
In the spirit of the Drupal community, I asked if Bradley could instead sponsor a DrupalCamp. My contacts in IT seemed very receptive to the idea, and said that we could get some labs and some food. We also have a few local multimedia shops who might be able to sponsor anything else that was needed. Bradley has a wireless campus, A/V equipment, and nice labs.

CDMUG will be posting updates as DCC takes shape.

January Meet up?
Are there people still interested in a Central IL DUG meet up in Peoria this month? It would need to be near the end of this month (After DrupalCampWI, at least) but I can arrange for a room at Bradley University if there's interest.
Steven Merrill and I were thinking that beyond just socializing we could cover more in-depth on the talk we're giving at DrupalCampWI about Druplash and Druplex (Drupal-powered Flash and Flex). Post back here with preferred times/dates and anything specific you want to hear about (or better yet, talk about).
Video games are also always an option.

Central Illinois DUG Overview of CCK 6.x
Any Drupal users in Bloomington, Champaign, Springfield, or Peoria Illinois are invited to a meeting in Bloomington on Thursday the 29th of November at the Bank of Illinois community room.
I just scored a coup at got the use of the brand new Bank of Illinois community room in Normal. It's on the top floor of the bank with an awesome view of the city. We'll have free wifi and a computer projector available.
Now that we have a projector, we could actually do a program, so I'll do an overview of the changes coming in CCK 6.x.
Drupal Camp Wisconsin
There's going to be a Drupal Camp in Milwaukee in January. See details at http://groups.drupal.org/node/3392. I'm probably going to try to attend and maybe we can coordinate a Central Illinois contingent to drive up together. It's not too bad a drive from here, probably 4 hours each way.
