I'm curious to 1) is this typical for other Drupal projects (possibly people could take the poll; 2) how much non-developers (pm, marketing, documentation, etc.) are being compensated; 3) how this compares to a client job (non-profit or other).

I've heard on several occasions, including responses to my last post on How to Segment Blog Personas, the recommendation to NOT use the core blog module, but instead to use CCK and Views to replicate the blog module functionality. This makes perfect sense, and I'm doing that going forward.

But what about a site that already has a bunch of blog posts using the core blog module? Has anyone successfully converted a bunch of existing blog posts from the Blog module to custom content types? Can anyone share step-by-step instructions?

I want to maintain at least two different personas on my Drupal-based blog: (1) Professional (2) Personal. Naturally, each would have its own set of blog entries that generally would not intersect, although they might sometimes.

My question is: What is the best way to organize and display each of these personas as its own blog, and still be able to show them together in one blog stream when I want to?

We're looking for a drupal / module developer familiar with both Drupal 5 and 6 to assist with our projects on an adhoc task basis.

We are creating a network of self development & spiritual related sites so there will be plenty of small jobs that need doing. While not necessary, its certainly a plus point if you share an interest in these topics.

Drupal Design Camp Boston is a free, two-day Drupal conference on June 13-14, 2009, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It is being organized by members of the Boston Drupal group as part of the growing Design 4 Drupal initiative that launched when designers and themers took DrupalCon DC by storm this past March.

This camp also coincides with the drupal.org redesign sprint at the MIT Media Lab on Friday, June 12. The sprint picks up where the San Francisco redesign sprint left off and participants at the Boston sprint will be learning how to contribute to theming drupal.org as well as implement the redesign.

I need to know how much is a theme. I'm deploying drupal sites in México and I suck with themes.

I need quotes on modified or original themes. I will honor the F/LOSS community and give all the themes back with the best, freest of all licenses. CC or GPL or whatever, haha!

Anyway, I need simple theme adaptations and use of pictures on them (backgrounds, etc). I like to re-use themes and, sometimes, maybe, create one or two.

Does anyone know how to embed a widget (or is there a Drupal Module) that will enable users to check for availability of domains?

I'm building a Drupal-based site on which users will request a new domain for their Drupal-based site. I'd like to determine availability of domains right from within my site, rather than sending them to a domain registrar.

I'd like to discuss (if you feel like sharing!) what it takes other D shops to develop your "average" site.

For us, a site that requires no custom code, will "cost" our customers roughly 80 hours of work from us. That's setting up the server/hosting, installation/configuration of D, custom theme (2 revisions), applying the theme, installation.configuration of modules, seeding a few major content areas, training and then launch. We then break down the custom areas that a client requests as seperate modules (modules in the sense of the invoice - not drupal.)

DrupalCamps, code sprints, and even Drupalcons are hard to hold without sponsors. It's important that sponsors are given a good value for their money or they will not sponsor future events. There are many ways to provide value to sponsors. The goal of this page is to come up with a list of many of these ways.

Has anyone used Drupal in an HR or Personnel database sort of scenario? I imagine that this would stretch the profile area or would mean some heavy CCK work. I'm thinking about this sort of application internally at an organization I work with as we track a lot of non-standard information due to the nature of our work and would appreciate your thoughts.

This is a one-time job for a 501c3 non-profit. I expect it is pretty simple for someone who knows their way around Drupal 6 module development. We have a PHP script that handles the distribution of a certain report individually to our people worldwide. Each person gets a custom version of the report. The report is uploaded to the server from this end with a predictable name that also identifies the user through a private key stored in the database and associated with the user. No user should be able to see any other users reports with the exception for users of a certain role. (This would be an enhancement of the current script.) Also, no user should be able to do anything, but view these reports. The ideal solution would provide the files through CCK Filefield so that I can create views on these reports as seems appropriate at the time and can integrate them into views that include other files.

I'm an experienced freelance programmer / 'sql expert' / 'business consultant' in need of a career shift.
I think Drupal as an environment (the things you can work on, the community) would make me happy.
However my programming experience with PHP/Drupal is very small. I'd have to 'get into it' (very probably unpaid) for a couple of months.
