Drupal for Good

Project: Harmonize databases, convert existing databases to new standards, and provide services and training as needed for the maintenance and updating of these databases.

This is an initial tender for the development of a new web-based database architecture for the CMS Family Secretariats (starting with CMS including its out posted office in Abu Dhabi, AEWA, ASCOBANS, EUROBATS, and Gorilla Agreement).

Dalia Association (www.dalia.ps) is a small nonprofit in Palestine that promotes community-led development and rights. Dalia has a Drupal website in English, Arabic and Spanish and a very small staff with almost no tech skills. We need a bilingual (English-Arabic) webmaster who knows Drupal and CiviCRM to do a major content upgrade, post new content monthly, maintain all aspects of the site, and send a newsletter out every 6-8 weeks. The person can live anywhere in the world but must be proficient in English and Arabic.

The Westfield Area Y of Westfield, NJ, is currently seeking a part time Web and Database Programmer who meets the following minimum requirements:

• LAMP development: Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, XML, XHTML, and CSS,
• Good knowledge of Linux, SSH, FTP, Telnet RSS & Web Services
• CMS experience in Drupal and civiCRM
• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience required
• Minimum 2+ years related work experience

In addition, the preferred candidate would have experience in the following areas:

• Social Media services integration such as Facebook and Twitter

Art With Impact is a social justice nonprofit that uses film to engage people in social issues, then connects them with nonprofits doing the work on the ground. Our organization relies heavily on a technical infrastructure that allows permissioned users (mostly nonprofit orgs and universities around the U.S.) to create their own content and update their own information. Art With Impact Executive Director - Carry McQueen Morrow will speak about their recent (~6 mo ago) process of selecting and implementing CiviCRM, as well as their plans for the system moving forward.

My partner and I are looking to form a contractual relationship with a skilled Drupal developer that can take complex client needs and make them reality in Drupal. We are cause communication professionals, focusing most of our work on nonprofits, green businesses and other socially/environmentally conscious efforts. We would like to meet a Drupal programmer with similar interests, interested in growing with us.

We are looking for:

A developer with skills in jquery, php, mysql, Views templating and all things Drupal.

Due to the holidays, the next Downtown LA Drupal meetup in December has been rescheduled to be on Friday, December 16, 2011. We're being hosted again by Droplabs, an event and coworking space in Downtown Los Angeles created by LA Drupal members for LA Drupal community. This time we're combining our meetup with a holiday party and food drive. You're invited!

LA Drupal meetups follow a basic format and start off with Drupal news and announcements, local job announcements, raffle prizes and presentations. We're forgoing full-length presentations this time and will be opening the floor to 5-10 minute-long presentations known as lightning talks. As always, we'll have our community Q&A, during which time anyone in attendance can ask questions and divine answers from the crowd.

Light food and refreshments will be served throughout the evening courtesy of our food and drink sponsor, Exaltation of Larks, and we'll finish off the night with more networking and a Drupal After Dark at 9:30pm.
