We've been called "Journalism for the 21st Century" (Telegraph), the HuffingtonPost thinks we "may change the way news is reported", and TechCrunch reckon we're "reinventing the newswire". Another way of describing us is that we're citizen journalism on steroids: truly empowering (and paying for) local story-tellers around the world.

Downtown LA Drupal meetup, Holiday Party and Food Drive on December 16, 2011 at Droplabs

Start:
2011-12-16 19:30 - 21:30 America/Los_Angeles

Due to the holidays, the next Downtown LA Drupal meetup in December has been rescheduled to be on Friday, December 16, 2011. We're being hosted again by Droplabs, an event and coworking space in Downtown Los Angeles created by LA Drupal members for LA Drupal community. This time we're combining our meetup with a holiday party and food drive. You're invited!

LA Drupal meetups follow a basic format and start off with Drupal news and announcements, local job announcements, raffle prizes and presentations. We're forgoing full-length presentations this time and will be opening the floor to 5-10 minute-long presentations known as lightning talks. As always, we'll have our community Q&A, during which time anyone in attendance can ask questions and divine answers from the crowd.

Light food and refreshments will be served throughout the evening courtesy of our food and drink sponsor, Exaltation of Larks, and we'll finish off the night with more networking and a Drupal After Dark at 9:30pm.

Agenda

   6:30pm
Food drive for the LA Food Bank and Occupy Los Angeles
   Users Helping Users
Projector and tables / chairs setup

   7:30-9:30pm
   Holiday party at Droplabs
   Introductions and job announcements
Lightning talks and community questions and answers
Raffle prizes! Collect them all! Must be present to win!

   9:30pm
   Wrap-up, Clean-up and Close-up

Go check out Bank4Hope @ http://bank4hope.org. We're looking for charity organizations around the world to partner with as well as companies that are interested in working with us to do more than just good ideas!
