Drupal Scotland
Welcome to Drupal Scotland
We have an annual training camp and regular meetups currently take place, usually monthly, in Edinburgh and Glasgow. If you're interested at all in Drupal, join this group, attend our meetings, or even start up your own local group. We welcome experienced designers/developers, complete beginners and the curious alike.
In 2011 Drupal Scotland became a recognized national Drupal association; our aims are:
- To empower and grow the Drupal community in Scotland
- To facilitate participation and contribution opportunities to the Drupal project
- To promote the use of Drupal as the web content management system of choice in Scotland.

Services 3.x REST server create update without storing NID on remote site
Im just at the begining of trying to understand services and rest, I have a simple php script that I can use to create resources from my remote site, this works fine as does updating resources when I have the NID to add into the script.
What I cant seem to get my head around is how I link create and updates from a remote site when the remote doesnt have or store the NID, I assumed that perhaps using CCk to store a Unique ID from the remote may be the answer but Im unsure how I would go about retrieving a NID from a REST call with a Unique CCK field.

Drupal Camp Scotland session ideas: live from Drupal Drinks Edinburgh

- panels/display suite/context round table discussion: heated debate (yet again!) on this topic has raised the idea that a freeform discussion session might be amusing/interesting/informative. With audience participation (heckling?) of course!
- git branching - I'll probably do another crash course in using git for fun, profit, and unholy branching models.

Drupal Drinks Edinburgh: February
We took January off as we figured in the first week everyone would be recovering from Hogmanay, so the first Edinburgh Drupal Drinks of 2012 will be on Wednesday 8 February at 18:00.
UPDATE: Venue is the Villager on George IV Bridge. Please sign up now if you intend to come along so I know if I need to amend the booking.
Also, feel free to suggest topics for discussion. One to get us all started: does anyone want to present a session at our Drupal Camp that's coming up in May?
