meet up question..

eCatantan's picture

Hi primerg,
This will be the first time that I will attend a meet up of Drupal Philippines, I don't know how the program goes.
Just want to ask if we will have a part in our meet up where in we can plan on how to further popularize Drupal in the Philippines, especially in academe?

Thank you.. :)

that's actually a good

primerg's picture

that's actually a good suggestion. we can have that part of our program :) once we finalized the topics for the talk, we'll check where we can add that part.

thanks!

Topic Selection

jorap's picture

I suggest that the three topics we have is that one is basic, one is intermediate and the other is advanced so we cater to everyone...

I look forward for this topic.

Only 3 topics?

jorap's picture

Three topics means one hour per topic... I think its better to get more topics in...
maybe only 20-30 minutes... so we can have 6 to 9 topics...

3 topics means 30 min

primerg's picture

3 topics means 30 min discussion + 15 min question and answer and another 15 min for networking. I think other than the talks, it's also important that we have a chance to talk to other drupal devs. I don't want to squeeze in too much information for 3 hours. masakit sa brain :)

but if more people want more discussion, that's fine too.

Im all for only 3 topics.. I

Im all for only 3 topics.. I agree with Rachel. And since the meetup is small I think we can be focused. So hopefully we can get really interesting subjects :)

Scrap my idea on more than 3 topics

jorap's picture

We could discuss who can deliver other topics in future barcamps so we can build momentum on this one...

Maybe some topics with a common theme , like theming.

nco71's picture

Hello , I can prepare a presentation for the zen theme , that would be nice to put it in perspective with 960. Anyone comfortable doing fusion theme :) ?

How about theming or porting

Jhef.Vicedo's picture

How about theming or porting a module in D7? Or about the changes in D7 architecture compared to the previous versions? Beta 2 has just been released so probably we got at least one member from the group with experience on this :) Anyone?

raising hand to indicate

sarah.et's picture

raising hand to indicate interest on the topic for D7 architecture difference-- i myself don't have knowledge about drupal core but i've been maintaining my org's website-- www.apc.org this is done by another non-profit org and is still on D5. we've been looking on porting to either D6 or D7... we have a few custom modules so taking time and assessing which version to shift. someone suggested that we wait on D7, i'd like to know why and if it'll be worth the wait. just thought / agree it would be good to have this topic on the table.

salamat!
sarah

just a quick comment on

primerg's picture

just a quick comment on whether you should wait for d7. usually, wait for another 6 months before major modules are fully ported to d7. the last time (which was just last month), i tried creating a site with d7 but it was frustrating to see that my favorite modules are not yet fully ported.

i also hope someone can discuss d7!
