When building a Drupal e-commerce site you have two (pure Drupal) choices:

  1. e-Commerce has been around since 2004 and has many supporting modules.
  2. Ubercart is the new kid on the block but seems to be doing very well.

Cathy Brehrendt will give us a "brain dump" from her recent e-commerce project that had her comparing and contrasting the two modules. I'll let the suspense build and not tell you what module she finally decided to go with.

Here is a node on the topic to get you thinking - http://drupal.org/node/153447

See you then!

Ubercart!

I am on my 6th Ubercart site so far. I wouldn't go with e-commerce unless there is a particular feature you need and is not yet developed for Ubercart, and you can't develop it yourself. We did some work on an e-commerce install recently because the customer needed a e-ticket solution. We could have created a solution for Ubercart but the site was built out and they needed just one more piece of functionality. If they came to us in the beginning we would have used Ubercart and created the e-ticket module that way.

Checkout www.ubercart.org the forums are active, the documentation is there, plus there are local people using Ubercart. Let me know if there are any questions about using Ubercart.
