An Open Source Hosting Environment Powered by Aegir & Drupal
Koumbit is proud to announce the launch of our AlternD.com Hosting Service, a new Drupal hosting service based on the Aegir platform. The AlternD.com Hosting Service gives the community at large the ability to create new sites at the click of a button, provides free weekly security upgrades, and comes with an easy-to-use interface, all at a reasonable price.
Koumbit's AlternD.com Hosting Service is based on the initial release of a larger open source hosting platform initiative called the AlternD.org Project. By creating this integrated, feature-rich system, we hope to provide tools and resources to further empower System Administrators and the other people we work with.
What is the AlternD.com Hosting Service?
This service offers secure and reliable management of your Drupal site(s) in an easy-to-use interface powered by Aegir. This includes one-click solutions to site backup, upgrades, cloning, and other features.
What is included in your hosting service?
What you get with your new hosting service:
- Hosting of your Drupal sites in Aegir
- Creation of an Aegir client account
- Weekly security updates
- 1 hour of support per month (N.B. Total support time, not just contact time)
- Required infrastructure for running your Drupal site (i.e. database, PHP, web server, file server)
Supported Platforms
We support Drupal 6 plus a large number of contributed modules, and will support Drupal 7 as soon as possible (check back after Drupal 7 is released for more information). CiviCRM support is also available for an additional fee. We aren't hosting Drupal 5 sites, but we're available to help you port your site to Drupal 6 -- just ask us for a quote.
Hosting Quotas
Quotas are based on your selected package, and include the following:
- 1, 3, or 5 sites (see package descriptions below)
- 15 GB/month of bandwidth
- 5 GB of disk space
Security Updates
Our hosting packages include free weekly security updates to the following:
- Drupal core
- Shared modules provided by the platform
- N.B. Modules in your site's directory are your own responsibility!
Additional Addons
- Optional SSL support ($70/year/site or $100 for 2 years, plus SSL certificate registration fees)

Service packages are based on the number of sites that you would like to host. You can purchase new hosting services online.
