User group meeting

It's everyone's favorite time of month again! We have really been dropping the ball in terms of deciding what we are going to do ahead of time. So I propose a good old fashioned show and tell unless someone has a topic they would like to present on.

We can have a couple people present 15 minutes each on a module/view/theme etc. of their choosing.

What do you guys think?

And as always we will hit up the Winchester immediately following.

I always like show and tell--but perhaps the added challenge is to say what you learned in developing the item you are "telling" about and how you learned it. Learning to learn is at the heart of experience in this business, so perhaps we should also be practicing these reflective skills. :)

I have a question which can perhaps wait, or perhaps you can answer here. I installed a theme, changed its name, CSS, etc. But I'm still getting update notices on this theme. Why is that? Is it in the .info file of the theme? I figured once I changed the name and removed the original theme, I'd not get that. But it still recognizes that I'm using a hacked theme. What's the best practice here? I'd actually like to incorporate some of the fixes from the theme update but I don't want to risk screwing up my sub theme. Advice?

Well, ok, now i see the update information at the end of the theme's .info file and simply replacing it with the lines from the updated theme does the trick--makes it think my theme is updated--but why does it recognize this as the original theme in the first place since I changed the theme's name? Is it because of the line in the info file that lists project name?

Skilled Drupal Developer Wanted

Hello,

I'm looking for a highly skilled Drupal Developer. I have a very large project that needs some expertise. If you or anyone you know is skilled with Drupal at the highest level and can take on more work, then please reply to this post. I'm not willing to post the project on this discussion feed, however if you would like to hear about my website and possibly be a part of an amazing project then please email me at the email below or contact me direct on my cell, just be sure to leave a voice mail if I do not answer. BTW, please only Drupal developers in or near Grand Rapids, East Lansing, Detroit or Ann Arbor, MI. Also, I'm looking for a free lancer, NOT an actual web development company.

Is anyone aware of a published database standard "blueprint" or database structure best practices that is published for drupal and drupal modules?

If so, can anyone point me to it?

See you in 25!

PS: I have no idea how I'm able to log in right now since it won't let me reset my password, but now my other account has been disbaled. I think the Drupal gods hate me.
