Start:
2008-06-03 18:00 America/New_York - 2008-06-03 20:00 America/New_York

Following the first Tuesday of the month timing we have been doing, then next Western Mass Drupal Meetup will be on Tuesday, June 3.

That was a great meeting this past Tuesday. Many thanks to Jim Skowyra for arranging the room again!

Thanks to David Hamilton this meeting will be hosted at Amherst College campus, Webster 102. For more see David's comment below.

Also, we have been informal in the past but I think an agenda would be good with as many presentations as possible, so comment below if you have something to present. It can be small and "newbie" so anything is cool. I think at the last meeting we did presentations that would have been over heads of newbies so want to maybe balance that with some basic stuff too. A step by step of Imagecache Module use is an example.

Check back here later for more details.

Thanks, Rick Hood

UPDATE:

agenda so far:

  1. Using the Audio Module - Jim Skowyra
  2. Building an image gallery using CCK, Views, Imagecache, Thickbox and Custom pagers (http://drupal.org/node/144725) - Rick Hood
  3. Making custom page and views templates - Dan
  4. The Innerfade module (http://drupal.org/project/innerfade) - tentative - Dan

On board with the agenda

Rick,

I agree that we need to have an agenda along with balancing presentations with newbies in mind. In that the groups so far have been small enough, possibly some brief introductions and our level of involvement with Drupal may be helpful, especially to those who come wanting to learn what Drupal can do for them or are considering using Drupal.

As far as location, we can usually get a room at the Lord Jeff with enough lead time (a couple of weeks), so if you can't find another spot, let me know and I can get us set up.

For a presentation, if anyone is interested, I can do a general overview of installing and using audio in Drupal.

Jim

Hi folks,

I reserved us a lab on the Amherst College campus, Webster 102. There's wifi available for guests, a projector, and workstations, along with ample seating. I'll see if I can arrange for dining services to provide use with some drinks and snacks. Here's a google map view of the college campus, and here's a screencap with Webster, the Lord Jeff, and the campus loop map highlighted.

sounds good

I am on board with the agenda.

I could say a few things about making custom page and views templates...

we'll probably also have the finished version of our innerfade module done too (http://drupal.org/project/innerfade) so I could demo that again, this time with the interface

I'm going to try to make it..

Hi all!

I'm going to try to make it on Tuesday. I'm a web developer (and general programmer) for a multimedia company in East Longmeadow. I've mostly been using ASP.NET but have been thinking of trying out Drupal. I hadn't realized there were local meetings on it until some people mentioned it at that recent WEB 2.Whatever presentation.

One question on the parking situation. It seems like my best bet would be to park at the Town Common and walk down Boltwood Ave. into the college. I parked there once (for a juggling club meeting) and seem to remember that you don't have to pay the meters after a certain time. Do you know when those switch over? This way I'll know how many quarters to put in my wallet. ;)

Hope to see you then...

Yup parking at town common

Yup parking at town common works; short walk to Amherst College from there. Yes after 6pm no meter money needed.

Parking map: http://gis.amherstma.gov/maps/pdf/AmherstParking.pdf (Amherst College is at bottom of map).

Can't make it today...

danhak@drupal.org - Tue, 2008-06-03 18:55

Hey everyone,

I can't make it out to Amherst today, just too busy with work to make the drive out there.

Gus will be there though, so the demo for Innerfade should still be on, and I'll try and get the module up on http://drupal.org or http://agaricdesign.com before then...
