Just thought I should probably join in here - I developed the GroupAdmin module. Maybe use this thread itself for any feedback or discussion which would not be better served by the issue queue.
I'd also like to request that GA users add a review on drupalmodules.com. Thanks.

Sorry I missed that question for more than six months! The "correct" way to implement Group Admin in D7 would be via Views - but that would not be simple. So, I don't know. GA is now the only of my major modules without a D7 version. I need to look at the feasibility of converting it to D7 - that's not the same as "planning" a D7 version!
