The title says it all, is the licence allowing us to completely remove any link back to Drupal.org ?

There never was a link-back to Drupal.org included in Drupal except for D6, which finally included a "powered by Drupal" block (which can simply be disabled, like any other block). It's up to you whether you'd like the world to know your site is running Drupal. :)

Yep, or code

As webchick said, you can just disable the block and be done with it. You can also remove the code for the block outright if you want to; that's perfectly fine, although the code will come back every time you upgrade. :-) Just disabling the block is the easiest method.

Thank you for your answers,

Thank you for your answers, I know that drupal never had a link in footer by default before drupal 6 and that was one more pride I had in using this great script, because even if it wasn't enforcing a backlink, it wasn't even putting one by default, that was such a sign that drupal doesn't need such low tactics to get recognition.
And I'm always keen on promoting Drupal to others of course, but I prefer not to ease the job of script kiddies pseudo-hackers who look for sites on google to exploit a known security issue.

Other ways

If someone is really up to no good, there are much more reliable ways to fingerprint a Drupal site than whether or not it has a "powered by Drupal" logo on it. :-) (I won't go into them here, for obvious reasons.)

The best way to protect yourself from such n'er do wells is not to hide the fact that you're using Drupal, but to keep Drupal and your modules up to date, keep an eye on the security announcements, and report any issues you come across yourself to the security team so that they can be fixed properly. That way even if they do find out that it's a Drupal site, it doesn't help them because they can't hack in anyway.

What about the logo
