Hi everyone. I just wanted to say, "Hello" to everyone out there. I am fairly new to Drupal, but have quite a bit of experience with both commercial and other open-source CMS systems. My company has decided to go forward with Drupal as their main platform for multiple community-based web sites, so I am jumping in head first! What I know about Drupal are the basics. What I'd like to learn is how to customize our installations with different modules. First and foremost, I would love to have some help and/or direction with workflow, workflow-ng, etc... as this will be a key necessity in our installation. Thanks, and I look forward to interacting with each of you in the future!

Welcome aboard!
Kevin,
Glad to have you!
WOW! sounds like your company is headed for a MAJOR Drupal project or maybe MULTIPLE projects.
Who's doing the work? Who's configuring the core and contributed modules and who is writing the custom functions and theming things together?
I have some experience with workflow-ng.
We've been kicking around the Idea of doing some conference calls via SKYPE. That might be a good place to do some workflow presentations. Head on over to the Conference call discussion and let us know if that format is something you can engage in, and when.
And be sure to check out the Our Shared Resources page where we all share our resources that help us wrap our minds around Drupal.
Keep in touch!

Definitely Major
Yes, this is definitely a major multi-site Drupal project... and probably multiples of that before it is all said and done. Most of the work will be done by one of my teammates and me, however, since it is a completely virtual company, he is located in Florida. I will be working on the theming and contributed modules, while my teammate will be doing all of the customization and hooking into the api (we have a membership database that is HUGE and we will need to figure out if we want to port it to the Drupal db or reconfigure Drupal to read our existing one).
I haven't used Skype before, but I do have an account set up. Since my company is virtual, I work from home, so I can do this about any time during regular work hours. Anything in the evening will need to be set up in advance, but Tuesday nights are definitely out (sorry!). Let me know if you have a time in mind, as I would definitely be interested.
Thanks!
Kevin, Welcome to our group
Kevin,
Welcome to our group and to Drupal! I think you will be very happy with the Drupal project and its robust community. Congrats on your success!
I look forward to getting to know you and help out in any way I can.

Thank You
Hi Tony,
Thanks for the welcome! I am looking forward to it, as well. I have to say it is a little daunting to start out (especially with naming conventions), but from everything I have read, seen, researched, etc... this is by far the best open-source platform out there, and I am excited to really get into it.
Aloha!
Kevin, welcome to the group. I hope if it isn't too short of notice that you would be able to
make the next meeting we have set up for this week. It is Thursday at the library downtown at 6:15pm. If not, I do look forward to meeting you at a future event.
I'm pretty new to drupal also and enjoy learning the things you can do with it. You'll find there are varied levels of experience in the group. Good Luck to you with your projects and hope to see ya soon.

I Will Try to Make It
Hi Tanisha. Thank you for the warm welcome. I would like to join the next meeting if I can make it!
Thursday for Drupal?
Yah,
You may have noticed that Kevin said. "but Tuesday nights are definitely out (sorry!)."
That's because I, once again, confused the date for our next meeting when talking to him.
If' I've done that to anyone else... Let me set it straight.
It is in fact Thursday.
I promise you all that I'm not on drugs or anything! :-)
Well well
I thought he had just read some of the posts that mentioned Tues. as a possible day...which is why I invited him out on Thurs. LOL...any news on the next Skype test or did I miss it?
