Very short notice, but we could meet this Sunday

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Would that work? Please post yes if you could meet @11AM this Sunday, and then I'll do an official announcement. IF not, we can push back a week.

Meet - Yes

I would like to meet with the group. Where do you meet?

Hey Bill

We have met in various places - all in Ashland. If there's interest in a meetup this Sunday, an 11AM meeting, returning back to the Beanery Coffee Shop, would be my vote.

Sunday would work for me and

Sunday would work for me and the Beanery would be perfect.

I'll be spending the weekend

I'll be spending the weekend hauling my life to a new house, wish I could be there instead.

Cheers,

Best of luck with the move - would be nice to hear how your project is turning out.

Thanks! Things have been

Thanks! Things have been pretty stalled project-wise during this whole house shopping/buying/moving process. I'm looking forward to being settled in and getting back to work on it. I'll definitely get in touch when that time comes, and since the site needs a major overhaul it might be a good opportunity to move from D6 to D7.

Lame

This issue was brought up at the January meeting, and seems to have lasted only for our February meeting. The main complaint was these "short notice" meetings. Even though January was my first meeting, I agreed that having only a few days notice is not practical.

If you're serious about having SODUG, a few days notice is not going to work. This comes from personal experience running various groups myself. I find this move disrespectful considering that this has been a concern before, has been addressed, and seemingly agreed upon to not be the norm.

The two meetings I have attended were very beneficial, informative, and even fun. However, without more than a weeks notice, I doubt I will be able to attend any meetings at all.

I would feel this way even if I could attend Sunday, which I cannot.

Great suggestions

It seems like having the meeting on the 27th would give everyone the proper notice. Great - thanks for the feedback on this informal thread, which is meant to gauge interest. An announcement for the event will be made as soon as possible.

Sunday works for me

Sunday works for me and the Beanery is good. I will bring a SODIG sign because I so dig Drupal :)

...and yes, we need to have more lead time for announced meetings.

Drupal

D7

Responding to jameadows remark about Drupal 7. For strictly selfish reasons I also would be happy to see an upgrade from D6 to D7! I am still having difficulty getting over the beginner hump but I certainly would volunteer to help where Drupal skills is not a requirement. Sounds like there might be some needs at SODIG besides just being a Drupal Expert.
