Welcome to the Southern Oregon Drupal Interest Group:
This group is forming a local community of Drupal users, developers and integrators. Meeting locations will depend on interest per location. Some cities in central and southern Oregon include: Ashland, Corvallis, Eugene, Bend, Grants Pass, Medford, and Klamath Falls.
Calling Southern Oregon Drupalers...
It has been far too long since we have had a local Drupal meetup. As Drupal's adoption in the Southern Oregon area is growing we need to keep growing our community of Drupal folks. Having a strong local Drupal community will help new users and clients see why Drupal Rocks!

A gathering of a few Drupal geeks will take place at the PlayWright at 258 A Street in Ashland at 6pm on Saturday.
Yes, almost no notice.
Pacific Northwest Drupal Summit October 14-16th
The Northwest Drupal Summit is taking place in Portland on October 14-16. It looks like there some good sessions being offered and this is a great way to connect with other Drupal users in the NW.
Might anyone else be interested in attending? The cost of the event is only $55 and if we can carpool and possibly share some lodging it would keep the cost of the trip to a minimum.
Another win for commerce on Drupal 7

Another SODIG Complimentary Educational Post: Views 3
This is really simple, but I recommend everyone who hasn't read this, read it!
http://drupalwatchdog.com/1/1/whats-new-in-views-3
It just tells you what's what in the clearest way I've found. Since we all know views, its probably worth the 5 minutes.
Additionally,
Panels is still very strong in D7 I am realizing, now it has inroads to Views (Display view fields in Panel Layouts) and Display Suite (Re-Arrange Node Fields in Panel Layouts). Also, the Panels Contextual Editor (WYSIWYG) is fairly cool and intuitive.

Just wondering if there are any Drupalers from Brookings.

See ya there. $5 good pasta is available -
Next SODIG Meeting
Trying to keep up with the schedule here -
I talked with a local business owner in Talent about having our next meeting at his place, Picasso's Pantry, and he's thrilled! There's a big square table, $5/pasta and wireless internet! So, lets have our next meeting there, How about the 14th at 11:00AM? I'll call and let him know, and check to see if its available.
Would anyone like to present something this meeting? My ddblock stuff turned out to be lackluster - Personally I'd love if someone would illustrate the Context way vs. the Panels way for building a site.

Hey there community,
As referenced here, http://groups.drupal.org/node/139369#comment-471294, we tentatively agreed that the 23rd, this upcoming Saturday, at 11:30, we will hold a SODIG meeting at the Standing Stone Brewery in Ashland. Due to lack of time and effort, we haven't progressed much further in officializing our group meeting times and standards quite yet, but I am excited that eventually we'll get around to it.
Read moreSome updates from past meetings and a question about Drupalcamp Colorado
Updates:
1. We're moving towards presentation-based meetings
2. We're considering a more private location with a whiteboard (must also have internet access)
3. It would be nice to have a schedule of future meetings planned in advance
Question:
Is anyone going to Drupalcamp Colorado? I suppose we could carpool it over there - anyone have a van? A drupalvan? http://2011.drupalcampcolorado.org/register

SODIG Meeting - March 27th, Sunday, 11:00AM-12:30PM @ The Beanery in Ashland
Please come to our Southern Oregon Drupal Interest Group (SODIG). It would be nice if we could each prepare a 2-5 minute lightning talk to either introduce ourselves, prep the group on a topic, or share something valuable that is happening in the Drupal community. This is very informal and not required, but might be a productive way to share things with each other.
Very short notice, but we could meet this Sunday
Would that work? Please post yes if you could meet @11AM this Sunday, and then I'll do an official announcement. IF not, we can push back a week.
Drupal case studies and guidelines
Drupal case studies, guidelines and forward
I have benefited greatly from reverse review of production-site case studies in Drupal 6. I expect the same from Drupal 7 as more and more designers/developers start using version 7.
