2008-08-27 19:00 US/Central - 2008-08-27 22:00 US/CentralHi All - the next Drupal meeting is coming up soon (August 27th). In our last meeting, we decided to have a question and answer session. However, this is the same time period as Drupalcon. I know that Allie Micka and Barry Madore from Advantage Labs are going to Drupalcon. There is a good chance many other TC Drupal members will be going also. That might mean that many of the people who would answer questions will be gone.
We could go ahead with the Q&A session. Or, we might want to think about having a showcase meeting instead, where members bring their latest websites and show some features of the site. Or - you might have even better suggestions. Let us know what you think!

Showcase Ideas?
Any more showcases planned? I am thinking of making the trip down. I don't have much I could showcase myself, but maybe I could scrap something together? I have been working on an Ubercart site in Drupal 6 (which has been a bit stalled as Ubercart for D6 matures!)
I've also been tinkering with OpenCalais (a bit buggy with RDF + ARC2 library), and the DISQUS comment system... both are pretty cool technologies... very Web 3.0-ish

Time?
Is this meeting really at 7:00AM Minneapolis time, or is the site's time setting (or mine?) causing some discrepancy? I'm usually awake at that time, but not usually ready to meet the public. :-)

Hi All - YES - it IS at 7PM, here at 2104 Stevens Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN. I certainly won't be here at 7AM - which means no pizza if you come that early.
It looks like we are on board with a "Show and Tell". So, come with a 5-10 minute informal review of a new site and some of its features; a new module you like; or a new idea you have using Drupal. Matt - it would be great to hear about OpenCalais and DISQUS - a discussion like that would perfectly fit the meeting direction.
It would be great - but not mandatory - if others could post some of their ideas for the show and tell here. Feel free to post ideas you would like to hear, or ideas you would like to present.

Hi all - um, if anyone reads this before tonight's meetup, I'm wondering if there are any parking tips I should know about, etc... I've not been to this location before, and I'm just a simple rural kid and all, ya know ;)
Alternatively, if anyone happens to be coming in from the West, like 394 or Hwy 55, shoot me a quick message, I'm in that general vicinity today.

It shouldn't be a problem. At least in that area there is free on street parking, you may have to watch out for signs. Otherwise, I think there might be free parking in the back of the building, but I honestly don't entirely remember.

Yes, there is parking in the back, since this is a meeting after working hours. Just drive up the driveway. The big glass door you see will lead to the conference room. Just knock to get the attention of someone in there.
