I have been dabbling with version control using the free Subversion tool and assembla.com to keep track of what I am doing and make sure my live site has a test area that is the same. Also used the MySQL administrator database software to move data between servers. Not sure what you have in mind but if we are doing things as a team remotely then it may be useful to have some way of controlling and organising that.
My knowledge isn't great but I would like to contribute some effort to this and also understand what others have done.

We do plan to have another meetup next month but we need a place for it.
During the last meetup, couple of people mentioned that they'll try and see if they can book a room for the meetup at either Edin uni or Napier uni. But i haven't heard anything back from them. Sorry, i've forgotten their names :(
Anyway, any suggestions of a place is welcome. Must have free wireless and a quiet environment would be suitable.

Many thanks for the offer. I take it your office is in Leith? I'll be interested to use the space for next meetup if others are too. Not sure what time suits everyone for next month (Oct) so any suggestions is welcome. If anyone can attend the next meetup, please leave a comment so we can get the numbers and see if the offered space can accommodate this. If not, i hope Alan can find somewhere for us.
As mentioned before, we are using this meetup to develop either a Scottish Drupal or Open source website (still deciding so open to suggestions). But nevertheless, it will be built using Drupal (obviously :-) ). So for next meetup, i think we should focus on project scope, planning and development process (staging, build and production).
It really doesn't matter whether you are a developer or a non-developer, come join us build the site and i hope everyone will learn something from each other.

Good to go here too... no longer on 24/7 support, well until November anyway, so my time's free.
Best times for me are the evenings, after 7, Monday through to Thursday. Weekends can be done but need a wee bit of notice.

duvien, yes our office is in Leith. Best times for us are after 5:30pm Monday to Friday. Weekends can be done as well (all day) but we would need to arrange this in advance. We have a facility for up to 10 people – working in 2-3 rooms next to each other + stuff like whiteboard etc.

Actually, what the hell, let's do it this week coming as i might be away the week after... wed or thurs (22nd - 23rd) after 6pm will be a good time but this depends on if Albert's office is available? we could perhaps go for drinks after afterwards. There are some nice pubs in Leith :-)
