Yay! We're having another meeting Next Friday at Pinkpeas. Here's the new location, if anyone needs to remind themselves where it is: http://www.pinkpeas.com/content/pinkpeas-has-new-home. I'm going to post Druplicon signs on the columns out front so it will hopefully be easier to find.
If anyone would like to volunteer to bring soda or snacks, please comment and let us know. I'll be bringing a variety twelve-pack of some craft beer I've never tried, so that should be interesting. :^)
Presentations are still up in the air, so if anyone has anything they are ready with, please comment. I could do a basic what it takes to create a basic module demo, but my time is limited for the next several days, so I'm not sure how good or useful it would be.

Oh, yeah.
Go RSVP to the MeetUp posting here: http://www.meetup.com/drupal-las-vegas/events/17481610/, so it becomes a real meeting.
Thanks!
xdebug presentation
I was reminded yesterday that I've already got plans on Friday and so I'll be unable to attend or do a presentation on xdebug this week.
I'm still alive
Hey guys. Sorry I have been dead on the forums this month. I have been going crazy getting ready for my final exams and projects at UNLV...It has been taking up all of my time. I will be at the meeting though. It will be nice to talk about modules instead of cpu pipelining for a change lol....
visual77, sorry you can't go. That is really unfortunate. I don't know that I have any time to step in and do a presentation this month, but I could bring some snacks and/or drinks if needed.
On a side note, I have been working with a Canadian web hosting company called Metro Hosting. They would like to sponsor the group. They are willing to give us resources, including hosting, and possibly even a domain, in exchange for sponsorship (advertising basically). I told them I would put the word out and see what you guys think.
see you on Friday,
Ray :-)

I'm all for using a host that is not a shared host. What kind of hosting are they offering? If it is shared with none, or limited ssh access, we already have that with Chris (purrin). We just need a host that someone (I volunteer if I have access to whatever host) can do a git pull from our github repo: https://github.com/lvdug/lasvegasdrupal.com when there are new changes in code. With anyone that has the ability to push their modules/themes/features to the repo, we can have a really nice collaborative effort going on. I don't mind spinning up some dev environments on my server to test said contributed code. It will be fun and a great resource.

Topics: To change it up a
Topics:
To change it up a bit, let's have 2 group discussion, and a presentation for this week's meetup.
Discussion:
1. Web Hosting options and what to look for. This seems to be a hot topic right now in groups, and also since Ray can potentially get us a sponsor, this would serve as a good discussion.
2. Open Atrium vs Commons - show some background (the videos on OpenAtrium and Commons) and then discuss the pros/cons of one vs the other.
Presentation:
Whatever presentation. Something simple/newbie bc our presentations last time were a bit more advanced and went over a few people's heads. Sorry though, can't think of any...

I'm okay with that idea
For the second discussion, there should be at least one person with experience in either product, so there can be someone speaking to the usefulness of the product. I am most familiar with OpenAtrium and I believe Casey is as well. I only really have a broad overview knowledge of Drupal Commons (as presented by Kieran Lal at SandCamp). I could spend some time learning it, but I won't have enough time to really get into it.
And then there is the presentation, which still needs to be stated. I can do an introduction into using Views for those who are not (very) familiar with it, if that will help fill the time. I don't really have the experience with a lot of the more in depth and complex aspects of it, however.
No Go For Me
Hey Guys,
Just wanted to drop in and let everybody know that I won't be able to make it to the meetup this Friday. So, have a great meeting! Can't wait to hear about it.
I would like to start to build out our site as a team effort. I think that the presentations that we do are perfect content for the site. A place to showcase our group's work and use the site as a teaching tool to show how to showcase content in a drupal site. We can all learn how to build something but contributing content and configurations to it. It will soon be like a snake eating its tail.
Sorry
Sorry I ended up not making it to the meeting. I had a personal emergency...My girl friends tire blew out....and by the time we got it taken care of, It was far too late. I didn't have anyones number, so I couldn't call...sorry about that XD.....
