The results of a longggg and lively discussion are in. The logo is:
Thanks to cncoleman and heather for most of the design work, to Ariane for pushing things to a vote and tabulating the results, and to marc for getting the whole thing started.
All of the sets of files have options with text and without text.
- CafePress ready 200dpi in blue, red, black and white/transparent (includes vector version)
- 72ppi blue only
You can use these files on your site or at cafepress or other places that let you turn them into shirts or other items.
There is also now a DrupalChix cafepress shop at http://www.cafepress.com/drupalchix.

and marc!
don't forget to thank marc who started up this whole discussion, and put alot of effort and creative energy into some fun designs.
Any requests?
I can put up more items this weekend...light tees, dark tees, jr raglans, and long sleeve tees are presently occupied with the initial designs...I'll get an oval sticker up with the "official" Drupalchick. Any other desired items? Mugs, hats, mousepads, messenger bags?
I'll add a random bunch if nobody has anything specific they want...

boy cut baseball T?
i like the baseball T.. but i think i'd like the boycut, rather than the body-hugging girl shape? if you don't mind, thank you!
are we also donating to drupal association through this? if so, it doesn't mention it anywhere.
Right now there's no markup
Right now there's no markup on anything, just the Cafepress prices.
I can add something to the prices...however, it will need a designated payee and tax info (if US) to cut checks.
Does anyone know if it would be an issue just enter the Drupal Association info and have the checks go straight to them?
Amy C. Cham

Kieran almost certainly
Kieran almost certainly would know, so says Merlin:) Though I suspect webchick probably knows or could find out easily enough also, being on the association and all:)
Added baseball tee with blue
Added baseball tee with blue logo...kept the logo down to 7" to stay closer to 200dpi. I can make that larger this weekend if that's preferable.
One thing...when I tried to unzip the files (windows box) I received messages that they are corrupted. Will try on my Mac tomorrow, but we may need the AI files re-uploaded.
Just heard back from Kieran and it sounds like we're a go to send checks directly to DA...how much should we add to the prices? A percentage? (He thought it was awesome we have an icon now, too!)
For perspective, tshirt are $15-20 as a base, long-sleeved are $15-25, stickers are $2.99, mini-buttons $1.49, etc.
Maybe a quick vote...
I can get this set up with the donations this weekend once we have a decision on the amount.
I'll cast my vote for 2.

I agree, #2 for a markup
I agree, #2 for a markup seems reasonable.
Also how about adding a sticker, a button, and a magnet (all using Drupal blue)? Those are nice general-purpose items that can be used in lots of ways.
Oh yes, lots of new items

The Cafepress-ready files
The Cafepress-ready files extracted fine, but the Illustrator files still gave me an error.Just noticed the subject on your comment. The updated file extracted fine!

Awesome!
This is great. And there's a red one, woo hoo! I would love some stickers.
Shop updates are in!
Okay...I added a ton of new products, the Drupal Association payment info, and a 20-25% markup on all items.
Let me know what you think...do the products work for everyone? Did the prices shake out about right?
I stuck with the blue, most with the writing, some without. If you have a different color you'd really like to see, I'll swap it in in a few weeks when it's time to freshen up the selection.

Haha. We don't want to get flamed... don't we? ;P
I still have side-burns but hey look! The DrupalChix have plenty of designs to wear for the next few months to come.
When can we get a glance at a "Drupal men's department store"? IMHO, the future is not bleak. But I predict that the next thing might be Drupal-babies apparel haha.

Smaller sticker packs
Would it be possible to add sticker packs containing fewer stickers? I don't really need 48 of them!
Unfortunately, the round
Unfortunately, the round ones only come in packs of 48. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but that's what they had available.
They do oval stickers too, which can be bought individually...does someone want to put together a quick design? I tried just putting the logo on by itself, but making it fit vertically made it small enough that it looked kinda funny--a LOT of white space.
If someone can do a quick design I can get that into the store asap.

Dimensions
Any specific dimensions? (e.g. width, height, gutter margin...)
I might be able to produce one if that helps.

WHOOPS
Hey Marc-
Sorry I didn't respond to this sooner...somehow I missed it when you posted it.
The oval stickers are 3" x 5".
You can see the dimensions and test designs on items here:
http://www.cafepress.com/cp/customize/
Stickers are under "fun stuff."
For now, I think something simple that focuses on the official Drupalchick is best.
Thanks!

Feedback, new requests?
Hey Chix-
It's been a few weeks, thought I'd see if there were any requests or ideas for fresh products. I know we're looking for an oval sticker, and a couple of people seemed revved about some red options.
If nobody has designs in mind, I can take a crack at putting these together this weekend.
Are there any other requests? Other feedback? Sizes and quality working for everyone? Items running big, small? Graphics the right size?

T-shirt quality
Hi there,
I don't love posting stuff like this. But in response to sizes and quality I was pretty disappointed in my new drupalchix shirt. I was soo excited for it to arrive. When it did, the quality was worse than sandpaper. And the sizing was horrible. I purchased a medium and felt like it was a man's t-shirt. I know sizing is hard online and everyone is different so that is not as big of a deal. But the shirts that cafe xpress uses are just bad news bears. I wouldn't be able to last 10 minutes in that scratchy shirt. If you have a chance to look at other companies, I love American Apparel shirts. The women's track tee, tri blend is EXCELLENT - one of the best fits and SOO soft.
Thanks for listening!
Best,

Sorry to hear, but good to know
Hi Shannon-
I'm sorry to hear the shirt didn't meet your expectations. :-( I believe they take returns...
To the group - Has anyone else had quality issues? Does anyone have another service we should look into? (Somebody mentioned another some time ago, but I can't find the posting now.)
Amy C. Cham

Yeah, I see what she means...
The t-shirt is a bit thin and the design looks like it'll come off after a few dozen washes. However, it's still one of my favourite t-shirts. :) But if there are online providers that do American Apparel instead, that might be good. Maybe Zazzle?
Not Zazzle
My Zazzle t-shirt (it was orange+white on black) got seriously messed up after the first wash :-(
Yeah, t-shirt quality is ok, just.
Yeah, t-shirt quality is ok, just. Like webchick I'd be worried the design might wash away very easily. I also got the stickers and to be honest, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Even the simple act of sticking one to my laptop caused the design to fade and I ended up with some blue transfer on my hand. They're just paper stickers rather than the better glossy ones.
Thank you for the feedback
Wow...okay. So there's a consistent quality problem then.
I'll look at Zazzle and see if we can set up a similar arrangement with commission checks to go to D.A.

CafePress alternatives
Sorry to hear about the quality problems.
I Googled "zazzle vs. printfection vs. cafepress" & there are some good links here to CP alternatives:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1B3GGGL_enUS228US228&q=zazzle+vs....
This gives a good overview of CP's competition:
http://www.squidoo.com/cafepress_alternative
Looks like this one might be something worth looking into although I've never used it:
http://www.printfection.com/
Overall, CafePress has a really bad reputation when it comes to quality (or lack thereof) & I chuckled when I read this comment:
"it looks like cafepress used spray paint and a cardboard stencil."

Phillies Jerseys
Hi friends,
I am new to this Drupal Groups. I am baseball fans and especially fan of "Phillies". I searched for Sports and Phillies Groups but not got any. Why don't you start a new group and discussion for sports fans?
I found a sports shop and want to share with all the sports fans. You can find the Phillies Jerseys, accessories and all at: www.diehardfans.com/team-philadelphia-phillies-63.html
Not only for Phillies, you can find for all the teams. I think you will enjoy this online sports shoppe.

Hi gingercat - I checked out the first link (café press ready files) and there is one .eps in it. I guess I will contact Karen about the broken illustrator.zip. Thanks though!
Thanks for the great ideas
Thanks everybody for the great ideas in these threads. Getting ready for our new Drupalchix arrival we came up with the following embroidery design:

new link to an AI Vector of the drupalchix logo
Since the link to the vector version of the drupalchix logo is currently broken above, and we needed one for the ladrupal.org site redesign that we are doing, the designer, Patis Lee, made a new AI file, available here:
http://indezign.net/share/sunrain/ladrupal/
the colors are different to match our site design, but it's a vector so you can easily change the colors to whatever you want/need.

Fantastic! Thank you.
This is so awesome @rainbreaw - thank Patis for doing this.
I pulled the .ai file into inkscape, and recoloured it (thanks for leaving the bitmap in there!)
I've put it up here as SVG format
http://kattekrab.net/files/Drupalchix.svg
and also as a large png file for raster / bitmap needs
http://kattekrab.net/files/Drupalchix.png
Would be cool if lots of people download these and mirror them in a bunch of places so we don't lose them again. :)

Logo graphics for printing
Hi all,
currently all links above to printable graphics are broken - does anybody have an eps, ai or svg file available and would be so kind as to post a link here?
Thanks a lot and kind regards,

new versions of downloadable files
Hi j4h8 - Thank you for alerting us to the fact that the links are broken.
Unfortunately, I do not have a clean version of the logo available to provide for download. I'm reaching out to the individual who made that set for me that I linked above, and hopefully she'll be able to locate it (she's moved a few times in between).
But I do have the files I used for t-shirts for drupalcampla 2010 and for a poster for drupalcampla 2009. The first is a slightly altered (and not blue) AI file, the second is unfortunately a raster PSD, but of VERY high quality.

I actually believe that both of these graphics were originally produced by ThisByThem, so want to make sure credit is duly given to them! http://thisbythem.com/
I hope these are helpful and sorry they took a while to put up.
