I wanted to kickstart the conversation for DrupalCamp indy 2011!
It seems that so many camps are planning WAY ahead and for good reason.
So here's my list of questions. At some point we may want to utilize a Wiki page for this but for now a discussion will do.
Where?
Last venue was a great start but we need to move on. IUPUI is a possibility. Who knows of others? The site of Indy Linux Fest was mentioned by some one. I'm open to that although the location is run down and out of the way.
Net?
We don't have to rely on the buildings net connection or Wifi. Where ever we have the event we need to know that we know it can handle the traffic OR look into the options available to pay for a temporary service as do many tech events these days.
Cost?
With so many annual camps and new ones starting up we may not get the $$ we got last time. Then again we might ROCK it. If the building costs us then that's really going to hurt the budget. I'm a bigger fan of the $5 or $10 camp then I used to be. I might even get talked into a $15 or $20. I think we set the tone last year that we can pull off a great camp. I believe it has established value now and I'm not as scared of charging for an event all about free software. ;-)
Team?
I expect the usual suspects will rise to the call. I'm also hoping to see some more help.
Let's get this ball rolling now and make the arrangements and partnerships we need in order to make DrupalCamp Indy another huge success!

Glad to help
Hi Doug,
I'm happy to help with this, and am definitely glad the discussion is starting early.
Right now I can't answer any questions -- other than including myself on the team -- but I can definitely add a question. When?
I'm subscribed to this post, and my schedule is incredibly hectic right now, but I'm definitely putting myself on the hook for some organizational/presentation responsibilities. This is a great opportunity!
Cheers,
Felix

If it were easy to understand, it wouldn't be called code.
Project Board?
We can use our project board again, or try something different if there's something else that is better. But we should probably start getting some documentation started about location, wifi, catering ideas and whatever else. If we do want to use our project board, I could duplicate the template from last year's camp and some people will already be in the system.
Felix, I think the "When" question would probably be held off until we can find out "Where" since the location availability will probably decide when it is :)
How much space will the
How much space will the location need to accomodate the camp? I work at the indianapolis museum of art, and we have several adult lecture halls, pavilions and the Toby. I could probably get a ball park figure on cost if the space here could accomodate the needs of the camp.
Last year me maxed out the
Last year me maxed out the space at 100, I'm thinking we could easily get 200.

I'd like to be involved in the planning as much as I can be. I'm not sure what that looks like yet, but if you need help rounding up speakers/planning/etc, let me know. Also, +1 to cangeceiro's venue idea.

I'm a designer/developer who is migrating from Pittsburgh to Indy in July and I would love to help out with DrupalCamp Indy. I can do design stuff or give a talk or pass out refreshments. Whatever is needed.

Centogram would like to be involved
Doug,
Your Cincinnati neighbors here at Centogram would like to be involved with DrupalCamp Indy 2011! We are not going to be much help with locations but are interested to assist in other ways. Please let us know what the next steps are.
Thanks,
Phil
Conference Call Scheduling
Let's get together on a conference call. We can use my webex and screen share as needed and use the #drupal-indy room for sharing links and annotation.
I won't be there on 6/20 for the meetup but i expect that CAMP will come up in discussion.
How about Thursday the 16th at 6pm? who would be cool with that?
That should work for me.

I'm cool with that as well.

What about IUPUI or other school?
Over here at the University of Illinois, we have a pretty large Drupal base, and we can get space for very very cheap and often even free. Maybe IUPUI or another school would be interested in hosting since it would potentially benefit their own people significantly as well as expand the school's exposure.
Biggest Looooozer.
OK.
I was busy moving into my new [yet temp] place in Columbus OH and totally spaced last nights meeting.
WOW!
We have been having some pretty good conversation on our IRC channel. Can every one join us on the freenode IRC in #drupal-indy ?
Find out how here : http://groups.drupal.org/node/10440 and http://drupal.org/irc
OK
How about this Tuesday night? I'm sure the gang that show's up to the monthly monday meeting will have some fruitful conversations. I look forward to hearing how that goes.
Who is up for Tuesday the 21st at 6pm?
