VDUG - October?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Just wanted to start a conversation to see if folks were interested at all in trying to do a meet up this month? Last month we had a great site review and some tips and tricks conversation. It'd be great to get things rolling on a regular basis!

I'm up for a meeting

Possible locations? I've got wifi, but no longer have projector. I'm on Church St. in Burlington.

Sounds good!

If we can schedule it in October, I would likely attend. I am always glad to check availability on our conference room (Winooski VT) if needed, though I think I remember folks talking of trying for Montpelier area again as that meeting location brought more attendance. I could probably round up a projector to bring to another space if needed.

Montpelier

I got no response from Bear Code (possible meeting location) earlier. I'll try again.

Just got word that Bear Code in Montpelier is potentially available as a meeting spot.

Meet at Bear Code in Montpelier?

mpeal's picture

The locations's perfect; I can walk down the hill to Bear Code.
Alas, I've got two projects due by Halloween. If I can break away, I will, but don't schedule around me.

Works for me

arthurf's picture

Works great for me, but I'm already in Montpelier.... How's next or the following week for folks?

How's November looking for folks

arthurf's picture

Given that we're drawing to a close here on October... folks up for meeting early next month? New projects to report? Problems that you're stuck on? Ideas for Drupal modules?

http://24b6.net

Let's meet in Nov.

joegml's picture

Bear Code has said we could meet in their space if folks still want to meet in Montpelier.

I'd like to discuss CCK Programatic Install in D6 ;-)

November Meeting

ericag's picture

I cannot attend in early Nov. If plans change and you decide to meet after the 15th, I'm in.

November meeting

I can attend most any day in November, except Nov. 6, 7, and 10.
Ubercart and online payments are on my mind.

November...

ggevalt's picture

Howdy folks,

UPDATE....

Sorry I've been out of the loop here in October and now November. Crushed with work.

I see an attempt to get something going for a meeting this week fizzled out.

Rapidly losing opportunities for week of Nov. 10 and 17th, but am game if there is a time others can do it and I can, too. Possible dates: 12, 13 or 14 or 17, 18, 20

THOUGHTS?

Nov. 6 is Good

joegml's picture

Nov. 6 would work for me.

Programmatic CCK Install: install a CCK type in a D6 module install file so the end user can expand fields in a content type.
See http://drupal.org/node/128038 and http://drupal.org/node/310823 and http://www.civicactions.com/blog/cck_import_and_update.

It's either my dunderheadedness, or it's hard ;-)

18th or 19th too late?

jstonevt's picture

Hi all,

Sorry for being out of the loop.

We would be happy to host a Drupal Meeting any time. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are best for us (so that Daemmon Hughes can join). Next week is bad for him however.

If that doesn't work, we can probably arrange to host a meeting any other time.

18th good for me

mjlF95's picture

The 18th sounds good to me. I checked with my co-worker Ian and it should be good for both of us.

FYI: For a future meeting (not this coming one but maybe in Dec or Jan?) I'd like to invite folks down to Randolph. We have a projector that should be sufficient and a local cafe has agreed to let us meet there. It's the old train station here in Randolph, now the Depot cafe. There is a nice loft with a couple love seats and a bunch of nice wooden tables/chairs. I'll bring it up again later, just wanted to plant the seed in people's heads.

Me too

arthurf's picture

I can do the 18th

http://24b6.net

Ping!

arthurf's picture

Just wanted to see if people are still up for the 18th, and if we should make an agenda?

http://24b6.net

Tomorrow?

jstonevt's picture

Wow! The 18th is tomorrow already...

Are people still interested???

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

arthurf's picture

I can still make it, but I'm worried that we might not have critical mass. Can people chime in if they are still up for it?

http://24b6.net

I'm still in

mjlF95's picture

Sorry for the last minute reply. I'm still in, but it looks like my coworker will have to skip out. As for agenda, I'm interested in hearing from others about Drupalcon. I'm trying to decide if it will be worth making a trip this coming March since it's in DC which is relatively close compared to where it's been historically. I'd also like to get some input from folks on what sort of backup/recovery/update solutions you use and what modules you rely on as core to the bulk of your pages. I'm also cutting my teeth on styling Drupal pages and I'd be interested in discussing styling strategies with folks. I think we'll need more than just Arthur and myself there though. I'll be checking my email and the group in the morning to see how it looks but as long as there are a few people that want to do it I'm in.

Sounds like the start of an agenda

I can do the 18th...

ggevalt's picture

...but I'm unclear the time. I am presuming late afternoon, like 4ish.... If so, I can do it.

agenda....
My biggest item is finding help.
And trying to figure out why my main site is eating so much memory.

Are we hosting here at Bear Code?

jstonevt's picture

If so... just let me know by around 2:00. 4PM or 5 PM will work for us here. If it is 4:00, Nick Husher might be here. He is our CSS guru and he can give pointers for CSS use in Drupal. I think he would love to talk about what he likes and dislikes about Drupal.

Directions?

arthurf's picture

Shall we say 4pm if we have a critical mass, and do you mind posting directions for the non-montpelier people?

a.
