Hello Folk,
An update on efforts from the Drupal Hyderabad group. November 11th being the scheduled date of Dries Buytaert’s visit to Hyderabad, the Hyderabad Drupal community folk are planning a Drupal Camp to bring together all Drupal folk in the southern region to Hyderabad on that day. Having said so, the event is open for everyone across the country. There are similar events being planned in Mumbai and Delhi. So, you can attend the one closer to you.
We at the Drupal Hyderabad group are meeting this weekend to discuss and finalise our shared efforts, roles and tasks to make this event a success. We will also be drafting an agenda for the day, 11th of November this year. It's a Friday!
We all believe it would be a great occasion to provide an opportunity for every Drupal enthusiast in the southern region to make it to Hyderabad and interact not only with Dries, but more importantly, fellow Drupal enthusiasts in the region. And, Hyderabad's just an overnight journey.
We are looking to have participation from everyone from Kochi to Hyderabad and cities that are easily connected to Hyderabad. It would also be a great opportunity for Drupal folk from Indore, Bhopal, Puducherry, Nagpur, Vizag, Bhubaneswar, Aurangabad, Warangal, Guntur, Vijayawada etc to make it to Hyderabad, as it is equidistant to many cities.
We would love to have your inputs on the event as well, as we progress. We are looking for speakers from various cities as well as participation.
Broadly, the day long event would include a keynote, and sessions that Introduce Drupal to enthusiasts and students alike. However, we also are planning on tracks to cover moderate and advanced topics of Drupal, and have BoFs (Birds of Feather. For some of us unfamiliar with the term, it's an informal / adhoc meeting format to discuss topics of mutual interest (Wiki on BoF; http://bit.ly/cM1KSf). The ideas we are all mooting include space for a code sprint and an opportunity for us to showcase our works, case studies and enable knowledge sharing.
We are having a meeting this Saturday to put together a plan, and will communicate the same to everyone.
Do watch out for further updates from the Drupal Hyderabad community on this, and please mark your calendars to be in Hyderabad on November 11th this year. Hyderabad is known for it's hospitality and Biryani, and a lot more.
What we need from you:
- Inputs for us to make this event a success
- Ideas on sessions you want to see
- Proposals to speak and share your knowledge at the event
- A confirmed return ticket to Hyderabad :)
For any clarification, please do not hesitate to contact any of us. Am also leaving a couple of numbers you can reach in Hyderabad for information about the same. We would also like co-organisers / volunteers from different regions.

Hi Guys
It's nice to see all the Drupal India Groups became active through Dries Trip. It's gonna be lot more fun and first step to organize DrupalCon India in very near future.
Here is my small list of suggestions for the event.
Two day event to make it more interactive with training's, sessions, code sprints, workshops. For most of the companies Saturday is holiday, so we can expect more people.
Beginner Tracks , Advanced Tracks
Module Development Training's
Hands on workshops
Code sprints to resolve D7 bugs, issues.
Documentation Sprints to improve Drupal documentation.
A website for drupalcamphyderabad. A registration form for sessions, handsonworkshops from speakers and organizers.
What else...?
things on the table...
Hi Anil,
Thank you for the points. They are definitely the kind of activities we would like to see as part of the event. There are numerous start-ups, and developers from the industry also who are assembling this weekend. And, the Drupal Camp Deccan web presence will be available in a day as well, with more information. Please stay tuned..and do encourage others to give us more feedback and inputs as well.

attendance to DCD
Hello Hari,
As the first such event in Deccan, firms and the local developer community propose event to be 'free'. There are 'no' participant fees planned. The Drupal Camp Deccan site will be open for participant registrations very soon. Firms and institutions supporting the organization of this event have proposed to share the incidents of the event. In fact, IIIT Hyderabad has graciously agreed to sponsor their university premises and facilities for the proposed event, and have come forward to demonstrate their leadership and support on this front. There would be more information available on this over the weekend after the Drupal Hyderabad folk have a meet.
Rest assured, the event and occasion will be worth it. Please pass on the message to fellow Drupal enthusiasts.
Warm regards on behalf of the Drupal Hyderabad folk,
Venky :)
