Intermediate users?
Hey guys,
I'm registered for the Drupal Camp and I'm wondering whether I should be. I am not a programmer and I'm getting pretty good at uploading and configuring modules. Your two tracks look like one is too basic for me and the other will be over my head. I don't mind spending some time helping the less experienced get up to speed but would I'm planning to drive 10 hours to get there and I'd like to think that I'm going to come away with something useful for myself.
I read on one of the threads that you have only two rooms so I know that a middle track isn't an option. Is there any possibility of someone offering a session on Intro to PHP? Or even Basic HTML for Dummies? That seems like a good basic session that would be valuable for me.
Or maybe something that I'm actually dealing with? Like Organic Groups? Or the modules for creating my own social network with a Profile that is integrated with the User ID?

good point
Kim,
It's a good point you're making and not one that was lost on us. Due to space and speaker limitations, we had to make some choices about what sessions to offer. We knew we had to offer a beginner-type track due to all of the newbies that will be attending. For the other track, we tried to balance what we felt people are interested in as well as the expertise(s) of the people willing to lead a session.
We still have 1 session that is TBD as well as a number of lightning talks that we're not going to set until the last minute. We'll be sure to keep your suggestions in mind.
Thanks,
-mike
Check the latest schedule
Kim, please make sure you check the latest schedule, rather than just what is on the older wiki:

I think you'd learn a chunk, I don't think the "advanced" topics will be completely out of your league for site configuration and architecture, and I really don't think there's going to be much code shown (besides the Start-to-Finish series).

Drupal Camp from a Newbie perspective
I just got home from the Camp and I just wanted to thank the group for putting on a great conference. I learned a lot about Drupal and I'm glad that I took the time to attend. I look forward to seeing some of you in the local Drupal Users Group meetings as well. I am more of a design person as opposed to a traditional programmer but I found that the sessions were informative and I feel like I came away with a better understanding of Drupal over all.
Thanks again for all the hard work that went into planning and pulling off the event.
2010 DrupalCamp
I am trying to get some link love to our official 2010 Florida DrupalCamp website. The pages for last year's event are still more relevant to Google.
If you haven't registered for the 2010 FLDrupalCamp yet, please go click on the link to register!
