Some groups confusion

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I'm on chapter 12 of Bill's book, and am not seeing things in the screenshots:

I see no Groups category when I'm logged in as admin. I have enabled the OG and OG Vocab modules. I have created the Class content type and made a test blog post, which I posted to that group. The post shows up, but when I go to the home page, I can't see a link to Groups.

Also, when I created the class, I got a message that said: The View og_ghp_ron was not found. Check your variables table or settings.php.

Again, I'm sure it's something simple, but I've gone over the instructions several times.

One thought -- I'm using the OG 6.x-1.0 and not 1.1. Could that make a difference?
TIA,
Bob

og_ghp_ron is the name of a standard view that comes with Organic Groups, and it is used to generate the home page. Is it possible that it got deleted?

One way to try and jumpstart this: upgrade to OG 6.x-1.1 -- the view should be there. If that doesn't work, I can try and look up a site that has OG installed for D6 -- I could export the view, and you could import it.

Or, you could uninstall OG and related modules, and then reinstall them.

Regardless of the path forward, getting og_ghp_ron needs to happen one way or another.

Cheers,

Bill

I upgraded OG from 1.0 to 1.1, and the Groups category appeared.

Thanks for the help, Bill. Again.

Upward and onward.
